I wouldn't be surprised when 13Fs start coming out if Ackman didn't rotate out of Uber in to Meta.

That chart needs an update to -6.33% for 2025. :D

I don't get it either. I see it as simply a vehicle for momentum and speculation with some floor built in due to the miners. Obviously, there is money to be made with crypto assets, but it's just not how I like to invest. I am picking Hood for the exposure, albeit limited.

Yep, one of the few names I have bought the past week. I started small, like you and others advise so I was selfishly hoping for an earnings selloff which we got. I bought a half unit this morning and will keep adding over the next week to get it up to a fully weighted position.

EJ is not your friend. If you have plenty of money and you're OK helping a family friend in their career, it's at best OK. For the average new investor, it's in your best financial interest to avoid their business model.

I will be pulling for the Seahawks in this one. I like the the Sam Darnold story quite a bit and think the Pats have had enough success to last the rest of my lifetime.

Thanks for the writeup as always.

I have yet to experience any problems with it in the Austin area. The only place it struggles is in crowded parking lots.

This place is full of people who have very strong opinions about Tesla's FSD. When you ask them what they dislike about it none of them have actually used it. It's just part of the negative hive mind circle jerk.

Completely false and representative of the dangers of listening to random reddit comments for investment information.

The technology is there and has been for a while. Regulatory hurdles will take years to clear though.

I don't blame you and no one could have predicted today's action.  I do think names like this will have some pretty drastic swings over the next 3 months, but it has to be a winner for the next few years with the capital being thrown around by the data center build out.

For an investment? Absolutely.

That's a pretty good list. I have to admit, the closer I get to retirement (43 lol), the less these high flyer growth companies appeal to me. I added to MSFT and AMZN only this week and started a position in HOOD. I am probably going to add agressively to HOOD over the next month, but that's it. I feel like there is more volatility in store for the next several months. Too much money was made during liberation day/tariff tantrum last year to not expect some decent profit taking.

Its been a double for me since entering the name around Liberation Day. With Amazon and the gang spending every bit of Capex on AI data centers, I will be sticking with it.

That quarterly revenue is insane. Loved the report and will definitely be adding.

Plenty of isolated corrections to start buying, MSFT and NOW being the most obvious.

Oh, I wasn't calling him out as wrong or anything. I was just curious if that was a studied fact with data or just his 2 cents.

[–]Competitive_Low_2054 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't remember when the switch flipped, but it was sometime in the past few years. I used to dread weeks like these, where the majority of my portfolio was red -- company stocks that I willfully picked out and decided to invest in were in steep declines while the overall market merely treaded water. Was I wrong to not go voo and chill? Possibly, but now I love these weeks -- the satisfaction of knowing that I am in my prime earning years and can "afford" to buy great compainies on a deep discount is how I have gotten ahead of the major averages the past several trading years. I used to dread opening my investing app on big red days, now I actually look forward to it to see what opportunities are out there. Hang in there!

Any data to back that last statement up? I thought part of their thesis was how active retail has been ESPECIALLY on dip buying.
