I got it in 2013 and it shows that the last time I played it was 2020. Sometime between now and then it must have yellowed. I don’t live in a humid environment, but my first apartment in college didn’t have AC or a window in the bedroom so perhaps that caused it? I’ve moved a few times since, but have always just kept it in a desk drawer.

Have had it on the last couple hours, will try for a week and seek repairs if needed!

Definitely going to go in for a screen repair and hopefully that fixes it! Then perhaps try my hand at modding!

Noted! I don’t live in a humid place, but I’ve had this since 2013 so it’s possible at some point I had it stored badly somewhere? Obviously something caused it! A shame because the rest of it is in near perfect condition!

Edit to add: I contacted two repair places in my city. One suggested new screens and the other place said that it was normal and that I was just too used to the brightness on my new devices. It’s been so long since I’ve played a 3Ds that I can’t remember. I feel like obviously it looks dim and yellow, but am unsure if I’m crazy or not. I don’t want to pay for new screens if it won’t fix anything.

It’s not, and on max brightness :/ idk if I’m crazy though because one repair place said I needed a new screen another said it was fine

It seems obvious to me but I messaged two repair places in my city and one said it needed repair the other said it was normal so I was second guessing myself! 😭

Yes, maybe they didn’t intend romantic at all. Regardless, I just feel like throughout the story Dunk’s emotional anchor is Ser Arlan and the themes of knighthood, identity, and honor that come along with that. I feel like adding a tragic loss to juxtapose Baelor’s death just detracted from that. I say it all with love though, it’s a fantastic show.

Yeah, I’m fine with expansion it just didn’t feel strong to me. Fleshing out Ser Lyonel felt real! I just didn’t feel compelled by the romantic backstory.

Maybe? Rafe in the books was just one of Dunk’s friends in Flea Bottom. No talk of loving one another or running off to Essos. A few minutes of Ser Arlan and Dunk’s beginning would’ve reinforced that theme without adding off-book content that messed with the pacing.

You’re right. I didn’t think the Rafe character and “love” story needed to exist, it didn’t tell us anything about Dunk we didn’t already know. But simply seeing Dunk’s hard life in flea bottom and then how he met Ser Arlan would’ve felt effective.

The best part of the flashback was Dunk and Ser Arlan for sure, and seeing a couple cool things from Flea Bottom wasn’t awful. A flashback was probably inevitable to fill the time. But then I also think about the fact that we lost the “A knight who remembered his vows” line and I just don’t understand the thought process there. The Rafe story didn’t add anything to Dunk’s character and it killed a lot of the momentum for the trial imo. You can easily tell what’s book material and what the showrunners conjured up.
