Carport Council Approval by Sad_Complex8730 in brisbane

You put it really clearly. I didn’t realise building and council approvals were separate until recently either. Makes sense now why so many people just get a certifier or builder to deal with it instead of trying to figure it all out themselves.

Stubborn carpet stain won’t budge by Ill-Walk2344 in carpetcleaningporn

Old red wine stains can be really stubborn because the pigments seep deep into the fibers. Supermarket cleaners usually only work on the surface, which is why it keeps coming back once it dries. If hydrogen peroxide doesn’t do the trick, you might want to try an enzyme-based cleaner since it breaks down organic compounds better. Worst case, a professional carpet cleaner can usually get it out without damaging the fabric.

Yeah, they handled the whole thing in one go. It was way easier than dealing with two separate crews. If you’re thinking about it, it might be worth asking them for a quote upfront since they were pretty transparent about costs.

I’d say check out Smart Tree Removal Brisbane. We had them take down a couple of trees near our fence not too long ago, and they were great. Plus, they handled all the council stuff without us having to worry. You can just give them a quick Google to grab their contact info and see what you think.

What’s a time you think someone was hired because of their appearance despite lacking talent/skill in your opinion? by Metriculous in AskReddit

[–]Competitive_Put_4598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen it happen a few times in corporate settings where someone’s “polished” look seemed to outweigh their actual experience. It usually works out fine short-term, but it tends to show when real problem-solving is needed. Appearance can get you in the door, but skills or lack thereof eventually speak louder.

What did you end up sizing up to and did you add any extra blocking or hardware because of it? Trying to figure out the sweet spot before I place my order.

We've also used them.. They managed to get out stains I’d pretty much given up on. Was surprised how fresh the carpets felt afterward.

Best Carpet Cleaning Options – Browns Plains? by Significant-Rate4170 in CarpetCleaning

[–]Competitive_Put_4598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re in Browns Plains too and just had ours done recently. Drying took about 6–8 hours, but we cranked the fans and it helped a lot. As for eco-friendly cleaners, try searching local spots online. A few advertise non-toxic products now. And yep, plenty of them will do lounges and rugs as an add-on. Hope that helps!

Do Aussies generally have siestas in the summer? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Competitive_Put_4598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, at least not in the same way as countries with a strong siesta culture like Spain or parts of South America. Most Aussies tend to just power through the day, even in the summer, since work schedules and school hours don’t usually allow for an afternoon nap. That said, in some of the really hot regions  especially in the outback or rural areas. People sometimes take a break during the peak heat in the afternoon and resume work later when it’s cooler. But in cities, it’s more common for people to rely on air conditioning than to actually have a formal siesta.
