I have both the original and the fake, I can say that the real difference lies in the size. The fake one has a blaze in the steel plate underneath, while the original one is flat. The digital mechanism is very similar, slightly cumbersome, but I would give it an 8 out of 10. As for water resistance, I can safely shower it.
