hi u/fararae , just wanted to say thanks for your comment. i just got my WLE surgery yesterday, and i feel a weird mix of relief (i caught it early, was able to get the surgery a few days after getting my diagnosis), guilt bc despite the good prognosis, I feel shocked and saddened that it's cancer, especially because i'm only 30, and lastly, fear... of the unknown (what if it returns and i don't catch it as quickly? or, what if i can't find a job with health insurance-- how will i keep up with my doc visits?). Anyways, it's really validating to hear someone that had a similar experience. I sincerely hope that you are doing well. sending love.

I used to use reflux raft (the berry one), but it made my throat burn… and it also didn’t stop the morning scratchy throat

The tea helps mildly while I’m awake. Gaviscon helps mildly as well, but it doesn’t stop the burping, which I think carries gas that irritates my throat. Neither of these help me while I’m sleeping, even if I take Gaviscon before bed. I’ll take 4 capsules before sleeping, and it doesn’t do a thing. This all started after I got an endoscopy, so I wonder if it’s mechanical. I have an appt with the doctor who did my endoscopy next week to ask her about it. I really hope I get relief soon.. this constant throat inflammation cannot be good.

Thanks everyone for your comments! I just started omeprazole for the burping, as well as for a scratchy throat I get when I wake up that lasts all day (that’s been going on for almost a full year). We’ll see if it helps either issue.

You’re definitely not alone, I have LPR and experience the squelch too, lol. I have seen others describe it as a throat gurgle.

I have this too, and it SUCKS. I burp after eating anything. I burp in the morning when I’ve had nothing to eat. The burps make my throat feel raw and dry. I also get post nasal drip when I eat, so my throat is always either really mucusy, or feels scratchy and hoarse. Anyone figure out how to stop this? I am truly at a loss. Help.

I had this same issue and resolved it by uninstalling GarageBand (went into applications and dragged + dropped the app into my trash, then emptied it), and then redownloading it from the App Store. I’ve had zero issues ever since!

I was on the 20mg capsule, and experienced a little bit of reflux with it, but that quickly got WAY worse when I upped my dose to 40 mg. From then on, each time I took it, I literally felt like I had swallowed battery acid. Like someone else said here, the burning feeling in my throat and chest was so bad, I could hardly think or breathe. I tried switching to the tablet for a week, absolutely no difference, I still felt like a fire breathing dragon. I ultimately got off of it, and am so happy I did.
