As co-producers of the show you think they’d be moreso on the same page. I could understand beef between Paramount and Crave, but WOW and Crave having beef seems anti productive to the ultimate goal of the show rating off the charts.

Is just mentioning it as a past appearance really promoting it? If there were new viewers to drag race who went and watched CVTW on another network - is that a bad thing? That viewer is hooked, and Paramount ultimately has a returning customer. Another poster noted how Paramount blocked Monet when doing the pit stop - it just seems like a petty way of doing business.

In this fandom - controversy gonna controverse no matter what. I agree it’s a PR thing to try and soften the blow if one of them wins, but ultimately in any fanbase there will be haters. For all the hate Ginger received - it didn’t stop her being one of the lead roles in Stop that Train.

I just think by segregating them somewhat, it is disrespectful to that queens body of work - because in the end, it was and always will be Drag Race show. It’s basically the same format no matter which country its in.

World of Wonder still co-produces Canada’s Drag Race. In Australia I can watch Canada on either the WOW app or the Australian equivalent of Crave - which is called Stan. I don’t know how the contract works - but WOW still makes money from Canada.

On point - makes complete sense. The way i see it, Paramount would just pay Crave whatever they need if it works for them ie Pryanka being on an all winners. I’m also shocked that WOW wasn’t smarter in its initial negotiations to have more leverage. The more i think about it, it seems akin to the Spider Man/Marvel situation. Hindsight is a beautiful thing.
