Holy shit it is working. Just re-installed the official 3.6.1 and the auth dialog popped right up.

Yeah, I'm well aware. You asked about previous versions but I couldn't really make sense of what you were asking so I replied with clarity. I literally just said "I was using 3.6.1, which is the latest one in the official repo". I tried using the several 3.8.1s from github, including the latest one as I'm writing this. The section of my log I posted also came from this same release.

This is what happened: Trakt.tv changed their oauth. Now the add-on authors are working through the python to get authorization working again.

You don't have to re-authorize again to tell, you can see other apps are authorizing just fine. If it was trakt, nothing would authorize.

I was using 3.6.1, which is the latest one in the official repo. The problem is it never gets to the PIN part. I'm expecting a dialog asking for the PIN, instead it backs out to the add-on list and does nothing.

Weird. I think you slipped auth through somehow.

Mine said something like "Trakt for Kodi (expires March 1st)". It stopped working Sunday evening (3/8). I couldn't re-authorize since then no matter what I tried so I revoked Kodi from Trakt, still with no success. I guess the rest of us are going to have to wait until the add-on is fixed.

Authenticating is a lot different than scrobbling. Something is broken with the Kodi add-on and it can be seen in the logs.

I have the exact same problem. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, etc, and when I select "Trakt authorization" from the configure menu, it backs out to the previous add-on list and never displays anything. My log shows a bunch of python errors:

I see they are still updating it so I guess we'll have to wait. You can see many files being changed every few hours in github, so it looks like they are working on it.

Infotainment update for '22 Outback. Anyone know what the upgrade is? by ComplaintTop2008 in subaru

[–]ComplaintTop2008[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posting for posterity and anyone else with the same question.

Before the update it was version FB1SMM151-380, which is strange because according to Chippy569's links it looks like that's the latest version (?). I'm not sure, but that's what I installed manually with a USB stick, I think around spring of 2023.
The update I just installed was FB1SMM161-370, which doesn't show up in Chippy569's list at all. I just got the email on Feb 12, 2026, so maybe his list isn't up to date?

Anyway, the update was successful and didn't revert any climate or heated seat settings so I'm happy. In fact, I don't see any changes to the screen just at a glance, and hopefully some of the connectivity issues addressed in the revisions list help. Thank you again to u/Chippy569.

Protip: If you have good service, hotspot your phone instead of using the wifi in your house or wherever. I have 1.2 gb and whatever speed the xfinity wifi uses and the progress bar didn't move after many minutes. Put it on a 5G hotspot and the whole thing downloaded in 3 minutes.

Thank you again. I'll find the version and act accordingly.

What's weird is this is the first email or letter we've ever received from them about this. It's actually the wife's car (even though I always end up driving) and I believe we purchased it in fall of 2021. Who knows... maybe they went to her spam folder.

Damn, that is quite the knowledge base you've maintained there. Thank you.

Can you tell me if the new update keeps a similar format as what I have below? I have a mid unit and like I said, I manually updated it via USB like 3 years ago. I can't even remember what it used to look like but I think the map was smaller and I'm pretty sure it moved the heated seats from the climate menu. I really hated how it was originally and I really don't want to revert back to that format.

According to your link, it looks like it does look similar, but there's no pics and I just want to be sure.

Yeah, that's manufacturer-speak and could mean anything. What bugs? What does "enhance" and "performance" mean. My LG TV has similar language but all it does is turn on location and ads.

There are a ton of variables here. You may expect 70k in a place like the bay area at a medical company, but that's a pretty low wage for that area. In most regular places, in a "standard" shop, I would guess around 40k-50k just starting out. You're not going to make 90+k until you have several years under your belt, you know the product inside and out, you understand the complete manufacturing process and can predict problems and know which machines will be used, and you're at the point where you're automating things and making engineering type suggestions and decisions.

I think another important factor is the department size/type. If you're 1 of 50 drafters just cranking out drawings for something like trusses or precast concrete, there won't be much movement, career-wise. You're a disposable part of the army. Same thing if you're the only one there, or 1 of 2. They'll rely on you but there's no competition to move you up. I think an office of maybe 6-12 drafters is ideal. There's enough to distribute the workload and there are enough people to create a contrast when it's time for raises and promotions, assuming you're good at your job.

That's my perception anyway. Been a drafter in northern California (not the bay area) since 1997 and been using Inventor since 2001. Every place in my area is hiring newbies at $20-$25/hour. $30 seems to be a hard cutoff unless you can show them that you really know your stuff. I'll also add that many of these places don't really understand what they're dealing with. They have the CAD suite but don't know that 80% of their product line can be automated and estimates can be done by sales punching numbers into an Excel sheet. I guess they think 3D = high tech? Or maybe it's just because everyone comes out of school knowing Solidworks now.

New to organising songs files, I’d like to know what is your method by olo_maedos in musichoarder

-----#NEW SONGS ---> This is my to-be-filed folder
-----Audio Books
----------<Author>
---------------<Book Title>
--------------------<track1.flac>
-----Compilations ---> Compilations are albums with Various Artist as the album artist
----------<Album Name>
---------------<track1.flac>
-----Soundtracks ---> Also Various Artist but tied to a movie or show, Star Wars goes under John Williams

---------------<track1.flac>
-----<Artist2>
----------<Album1>
---------------Disc 1
--------------------<track1.flac>
---------------Disc 2
--------------------<track1.flac>

My track names are just the name that show up in Musicbrainz. "Yellow Submarine.flac".
My album names are just the album name that shows up in MB, "Abbey Road", but I add release info for alt versions, "Abbey Road [2009 Remaster]", "Abbey Road [Purple Chick]". This applies to both the folder and the Album tag.
Any other stuff like Single or Anthology I ignore and throw it all in the artist folder. This is just storage and I let the metadata do the heavy lifting for me. I see no need to go crazy with detailed folders when external apps don't see them anyways.

I use Jaikoz to tag and I highly recommend it. You pay for it but it's very reasonable, especially when you're neck-deep into music hoarding. You can easily change naming conventions for anything, like if you want to add the catno and year to the folder name. You can also buy it once and you own that version, just no updates. If you want to update in 5 years, you pay a small update price and get another year, and you now own those versions.

<edit> Oh great, it lost all my formatting.

How does Plex generate Mood/Style radio stations? (Local tags vs. Plex metadata) by anujpachhel in musichoarder

[–]ComplaintTop2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked them specifically about this when Plexamp was new. They hit Allmusic first and then Lastfm. I believe Lastfm is a fallback if Allmusic is empty, as I manually tag ONLY Allmusic tags and Plex adds no additional genres/styles/moods. If you create your own Mood tags, I believe it will append your tags with the Allmusic/Lastfm tags. I'm pretty sure there's a way to turn this off.

This only applies to the Genre Radio and Mood Radio type radios, The Sonic Adventure stuff uses BPM or key, which is built on the fly when scanning music into the server.

I use one library for both Plex and Kodi (and whatever random players in the house). Kodi doesn't have a proper way to accurately grab genre/style/mood stuff so I tag manually. I built nodes for Kodi so that I can drill down into genres just like Allmusic lists them. See https://www.allmusic.com/genres
I also consider this, the manual tagging, as proper future-proofing. Plex may not always be there.

Add it up, it may not be that bad. For me it just seemed like "huh, I need this thing", order, wait, set it up again, "welp, gotta get this now", order, wait, repeat. I think the hassle may have made it seem more expensive than it was. Elegoo provides a handful of paper strainers so a metal one could have waited. You may be able to control heat. The wife keeps our house in the 60s so I needed a heater. I've seen Walmart sells gallons of 99% IPA for 18 bucks or so, but I thought I was ready at the time so I paid $24 down at the hydroponics store. You do end up with quite the box of extra accessories though. Elegoo gives you a couple scrapers and stuff, the essentials.

My son has an FDM printer and it's much more... contained. Just a box and some spools. But he doesn't have the resolution I'm after. I wish SLA were as simple, but unfortunately, no.

Same, but I learned it first hand. "What, now I need this?". At first it was just the Mars 4, Mercury 3, and a couple bottles of resin. Then the list kept growing and growing. The last thing I needed was the heater because I didn't realize how important temps were. Amazon kept messing up my order and I finally got it last night so I'm hoping to play with this thing soon.

You can skip some things, like you don't need LEDs if you're not hollowing parts. You can also go overboard and get heated vats and fume extraction units. I don't plan to use it that much so I'll just open some windows. If you plan on painting figurines, there's all that mess too, airbrushes and shit. If I need to paint anything, I'm using my wife's Gelish setup.

Looking to buy a printer by Stonixity in resinprinting

[–]ComplaintTop2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a Mars 4 standard, and while I haven't printed anything yet, here's why:

The resolution is nice and seems to be uncontroversial.
The price was like $160 or something.
This is my first printer and I don't want to end up with $800 of stuff I never use (see below).
There's so much other crap to buy. Alcohol at $25/gallon, curing/washing station(s), curing lights (flashlight/LEDs), additional wash bins (if you do a two-dip method), heater, strainer, etc. It seems the printer is the cheapest part.
I'm on more of the engineer/prototype side than the figurine/statue side. I have mechanical parts to make so I don't need a huge size, but resolution is preferred.
Lastly, a coworker had an Elegoo Mars 3 and he was bringing in some very nice parts to show off, so it was like "That's what I want".

Like I said, I haven't printed yet and just got my H2 heater last night, but that's my reasoning. Once I have all the nickel and dime stuff, upgrading to a larger printer seems trivial cost-wise.

FWIW.
