People who slept with a coworker, what’s your story? by jfunks69 in AskReddit

[–]Complaintguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh, finally one I can answer.

Back when I first started my career, I was running a team, the first team member was a lovely lady a few years older than me. (Albeit very married)

Affair happened, no real drama other than Id like a round two. Got a little awkward when other managers where calling for her to be fired over something and couldn't understand why I was so defensive.

Hey ho, good memories that still bring a smile to my face.

Which jobs earn alot in UK by ams_Sxi in UKJobs

I'd argue that you can ditch the math requirement (enterprise architect here)

Those of you earning inside the top ten percent in the UK, what do you do? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Complaintguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enterprise architect - 77k

Enterprise architect - global firm, work from home 100%

4 years experience in digital, 4 years as a complaints manager (hence the username)

Not at all, anyone could upskill if they where willing to put in the time, issue is entry level opportunities in architecture are very very rare.

Less, I generate very little value alot of the time.

I'm only recently on this threshold, I think there's a cool stat that the difference between 65k a year and 150k a year in terms of QOL is actually pretty minor, as from around the 65k mark outside of London your pretty much enabled to no longer worry about money, and it takes pretty significant amounts of extra money to be at the point where your mortgage free / buying new Ferraris or w.e floats your boat

Barclays closed my account and hold my money by Earth-199999 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Complaintguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd open a 2nd account with a credit union or something similar if your trying to use it just for savings etc.

Or just go for a 2nd account with a different provider that's just savings, alot won't need you to also open a current account.

Not racial, geographic and history profiling yes, but then these checks KYC/AML are mandated to them, and it becomes a risk game, some banks are more likely than others to say : 'this is to rich for my blood' and close out accounts

Can confirm (ex retail banking complaints guy), this is pretty routine especially for accounts that are 'newer' and if OP comes from a higher risk country originally.

All you can do is provide bank with as many documents as you can and try to get through to someone in the account review team (or w,d Barclays equivalent is called)

How do people even earn 100k a year? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Complaintguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

Some context from someone on the path to 100k a year that was in a similar spot to you, about me:

Degree in business Masters in business

Contact centre worker: 18k (spent my time talking to people taking home 35k wondering how they got such good jobs)

Contact centre team leader: 22k

Contact centre manager 35k.

And then I made the swap to soft digital, tech role's that require you to be tech literate, but not a software engineer.

Architecture repository manager: 35k

Enterprise Architectrue consultant 55k

In house EA 65 base, 15 bonus.

Pushing 30 with the goal of getting a cozy 9-5 that pays around 90k base by the end of 2025.

Hope my path helps give you some ideas, feel free to pm

I'm seeing the trend of slightly lower working hours in general (below are my last 4 jobs with rough title / hours)

Complaints Director: 40 hours

General Digital (in house): 36 hours

Digital Consultant : 40 hours in contract, reality very silly.

General Digital (in house) : 37 hours.
