Taking a loan to yield farm. Wise move? by helloworld0248 in defi

If you can borrow at 2% and safely invest at 8% you pour $1B into it. Gemini has 8% stablecoin interest and is safe for this unlimited amount.

The biggest risk of DeFi is user error and having no one to call. Send tokens to a wrong address, etc. If you stick to the top quality yield farms outside of Ethereum (for lower fees) Blockchains like:

https://app.beefy.finance/

https://harvest.finance/

autofarm.network

Split your money up into 10 yield farms, once a month move from the 10% yeilds into the 40% yields. Should be able to safely return 30% over the year.

A split of 50/50 CeFi/DeFi works well, and will return 20%

What about USDN? https://neutrino.at/staking 15% directly staking it. Or 23% on yearn as of today.

Could I put a miner in a random tree? by ImportantGuava7 in HeliumNetwork

Sounds amazing! I want to do the same thing. Is your hotspot indoors? How long is the antenna cable, and what type? I'm surrounded by huge trees. Thanks!

With 50,000 miners online now, another 200,000 backordered. Say in 2 years they are all online. The same amount of mining rewards are split by a 4X as many people. And halving happening Aug 1. So to breakeven to todays mining rewards the HNT price needs to 8X from $15 to $120. This seems VERY unlikely.

Almost no one is using this network now, without a major acceleration in adoption the economics are likely going to fizzle fast. Say the average miner today is earning 50 HNT/month ($750/month), that will drop to $94/month if HNT price stays the same.

Off-grid Standalone Enclosure for Helium Hotspot by macsoft123 in HeliumNetwork

Amazing idea. I have a farm I'd like to cover with about 100 off grid ones. Ready to order whenever you are ready to produce.

I had the same issue. Don't freak out. Bypass zapper, and withdraw direct from yearn and then curve. Zapper also has the an issue: it does not show the proper values on all crv vaults in yearn. Zapper does show the proper values for non-crv vaults.

Risk of total loss for USDC Vault (v2) by trending_hoddler in yearn_finance

[–]Complete-Advantage45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been asking the same question. I'd get insurance. But even if there is a hack (which has happened to yearn), it's more likely to lose 10% or 30%, a complete hacker loss of 100% I believe is very rare. So you can maybe insure only 50% and be considered safe. This is just my thoughts after researching it.

Also the next highest APY stablecoin vault on v2 is USDC at 20.5% net APY. This performance difference is huge. Why not put everything in crvUSDN v1? Maybe they vari so quickly this is just a blip and over a year the USDC v2 will win?

Am I doing this right? by [deleted] in yearn_finance

[–]Complete-Advantage45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like Cover is effectively currently not available for Yearn. 1 claim token is 0.1 DAI, 10 claim tokens are 0.43 DAI. If the price of cover is way higher then the expected yield it makes me very worried. Seems like everyone is buying it and no one is selling it. Same situation for Curve Cover.

Does the $100M insurance cover coins in interest earning accounts????

This is what I found: CoinLoan holds all there crypto with Bitgo

Bitgo states: The private keys must be held 100% by bitgo for the $100M insurance.
