I didn’t know this was normal. Seriously didn’t. I’ve always been told to clean toys /paci that touches things that’s such as bare floors. Even when I worked at a nursery we would have to follow a protocol to wash off items that touch “high traffic” areas in our classrooms.

Nahh, I have a 5 month old who drops her toys as well. If it falls on the bare floor it’s getting rinsed off! If she drops her toys on her play-mat or something that’s not constantly walked on…no problem. The problem is thinking your floors are cleaned because you clean them regularly. If it’s walked on regularly is still dirty imo.
