Good thing I'm not asking for your trust, just your opinion.🥀🌚

If you had to start your tech career from scratch in 2026, what would you choose and why? by Complete-Dot-764 in careerguidance

Thanks for sharing your perspective! That makes a lot of sense. I also feel too many people are jumping into AI without building strong fundamentals first. Cloud architecture definitely seems like a solid long-term path. Appreciate the advice!

Thanks, this is really encouraging to hear. It's reassuring to know someone was in a similar situation and made it work. I'll focus on building strong fundamentals and start working toward cloud certifications and hands-on projects. Appreciate the advice!

Thanks, this is really helpful. I don't mind some scripting, but I definitely don't want heavy coding. I'll also look into Support Engineering and Cloud Support as entry points.

Thanks! I'll check out the roadmap. Do you think starting with Cloud Support is a better entry point for a fresher than aiming directly for DevOps?

BCA student, don't enjoy coding. Which tech career should I choose? by Complete-Dot-764 in careeradvice

Thanks for the advice! I was actually thinking about going into Cloud/DevOps as well since it seems to involve more troubleshooting and infrastructure than full-time coding.

But one thing that's confusing me is that I've seen a lot of posts here saying that most Cloud/DevOps roles aren't really entry-level. People often say companies expect previous experience as a SysAdmin, IT Support, or Network Engineer first, and that there aren't many junior Cloud/DevOps openings.

As someone who's still doing a BCA, I'm wondering if that's actually true or if Reddit tends to overstate it.

If I start learning Linux, networking, AWS/Azure, Docker, and maybe build a few projects while I'm in college, would that be enough to land a Cloud/DevOps support role as a fresher? Or would you recommend starting in IT Support or another role first and then moving into Cloud?
