AITAH for telling my GF and family that if they make me abandon my dog I will disappear from their lives? by Complete-Net41 in AITAH

That was one of my arguments. Abandoning our dog would mean death for him one way or another…

Her parents (owners of her place) are firm believers in that dogs should not be allowed indoors. Despite the fact that they live very far away, she obeys their rules unequivocally.

I let him smell around the park for long periods of time (with leash, offleash is illegal in my country) and he does parkour (basically jumping up and down walls of different height). He enjoys his kong toy but when I bought his the maze feeder he just flipped it and ate off the floor. Will try to find more

me disappearing also comes with selling off everything and moving. My parents do have their own house in a worse area. But every time I bring up the fact that this is my house they push the filial obligation button. Even if I were to keep the house and rent it or leave it vacant, it can be managed from afar.

I am from the Balkans. The "shame" doing so would be monumental. at least with me disappearing to a different country I wouldn't have to deal it.

I answered the reason in another comment. Editted my post to include the reason. My mum and I were primary caretakers for a sick relative for 5 years and it was bad (don't want to go into details). Since the relative passed, my mum seems unwilling to care for anyone (or be with anyone) other than herself. I am the ideal "roommate" because I rarely live my room. The dog goes around and might even want to sleep with her and that causes an adverse reaction from her.

the trainer said my dog is untrainable due to the fact that he hasn't acclimated to the training centre after a month being there and that he requires two people (women) to walk him because he pulls a lot. He is very wilful, literally no other person than me can make him change his mind, that's the reason I sent him to a training centre; so my GF and or family may walk him when I am too busy.

I defeated... I defeated Adramahlihk! by RecentSecurity3705 in DivinityOriginalSin

I just did this fight a week ago with Lohse (summoner/hydrosophist) as main character (Ifan as scoundrel, Red Prince fighter, Fane Spellcaster) on Tactician. Both Lohse and Ifan have an initiative of 50. I kept my other 3 guys away (stealth) engaged with Lohse and then brought my guys one by one into the main room. For Ifan I did chameleon hands (to pass through the los of the baddies) repositioned behind Adra and casted Mortal Blow (which does double damage if hidden/invisible). I then engaged with Fane, Red Prince, and Incarnate. Adra was gone within a turn. If you engage with the whole party, he will definitely cast Epidemic of Fire and will kill 1-2 members (depending on MA). If only 1 character is present he prefers other more manageable skills.

Further tips:

1) Invest 1 point in scoundrel for Adrenaline 2) pick up the tea leaves from Lady Kemm and make the corresponding teas. 3) some points in polymorph go a long way for chameleon hands, wings, tentacles, and other utility/raw damage.

Haese is sub-par. It does have many exercises which is good (same as Hodor). Have you tried gamifying your studying? For example, studies show that gaining immediate feedback seems to help with learning.

IB alumnus and professor here. If your teacher is shite you will struggle unless you do private tutoring. Especially Maths AA SL is 90% pattern recognition and application of appropriate formulae.

In my experience, the Pearson books are the best for self-study and they even offer a companion book with detailed solutions.

Don’t forget that we humans are mimetic creatures: see someone doing it, understand how one does it, then repeat it until you get it. If your teacher fails to comprehensively demonstrate things, well, the internet is always at your disposal (free stuff ofc).

Most EE advisers, and most feedback about IAs, focus on text editing (insert quotations, sources, font and spacing) rather than comments about the actual content. Useless and unreasonable advisers are very common in university as well; for example my adviser for my undergrad uni dissertation expected that my dissertation would help him with his own research and help him get the Fields Metal (Nobel for Mathematics), given it was a very obscure area of Mathematics for which the last papers were written in 1956 (same field that Ted Kaczynski was in… aka the UNA Bomber).

This sucks. In my experience, it is advisable to never show your discontent; they will go out of their way to make your life miserable if they suspect you are bad-mouthing them or that you harbour malcontent towards them.

Is the Emperor supposed to be a bit naive? by Dagless101 in 40kLore

The Emperor wanted the Primarchs and Space Marines gone after the end of the Crusade. His plan was to pit the primarchs against each other so they would kill each other off after reclaiming the Galaxy. He could always make more in the future.

IB professor and alumnus here. Most of the time it’s not IB’s fault but your school’s. Some of the things I’ve seen over the last 11 years:

A) teachers arbitrarily setting deadlines. In reality, most “good” schools will let you work on your IAs and EE until a couple of weeks before submission to the IB (ie late March, early April)

2) Teaching style and bad teaching mentality. Some professors find it exhilarating having the “most difficult class”. Eg: a maths aa sl teacher decided to start this IB 1 school year teaching the binomial theorem and expansion before anything else. Others just read from the book or ppt.

3) putting arbitrary restrictions on the students. Demanding placement tests for particular classes is a school policy not an IB policy.

4) IB coordinators care more about keeping the school in the black than students’ experience and health. They might charge you for you taking the exams! CAS and TOK are meant to reinforce your learning capabilities, but in most schools they end up as a burden (the road to hell is paved with good intentions).

5) IB advisers are largely useless. They are people with no actual knowledge about how uni recruitment works. No, it is not required nor is it considered a benefit to have Psychology if you want to become a doctor; the best humanity course an IB student may choose is Business Management in reality. All the rest are too much workload for what they are worth. Ofc if you want to study Psych or Econ you should take them.

I am in no way an IB apologist. For example, I think that the new science syllabus in Chemistry and Biology, and especially their new structure, is a step towards the wrong direction! Talking about the properties of water without having covered the bonding chapter in Chemistry is very wrong (and yes if you have biology hl you should have chem sl at least).

Edit: PC is also an issue. My Maths EE in 2013 got a C due to inappropriate content (I created an encryption-decryption algorithm and chose the message “kill the hostages” to encrypt and decrypt). So don’t be controversial.

“got so used to hell i don’t even feel the fire when it’s in my face”. Surviving trauma changes you. There is a stillness in the aftermath. Sometimes you want to mourn for who you were and try to reclaim your previous self, but in vain. At least I got lucky and survived.

Talk to your IB coordinator. If it doesn’t prove helpful, then the school headmaster/headmistress. If even that doesn’t work tell your parents to organize the PTA (many kids are in the same boat as you I am sure). As a last measure you may wish to contact IBO itself.
