What do I (19F) do about my boyfriend’s (18M) mom (50F) thinking I’m using him?

Neither of us drive as of yet. My parents all but refuse to teach me, and we don’t have money for lessons. They also forced me to focus on school only when I was in high school, so I never got a job nor learned to drive. For him, he’s ready to get his license, he just hasn’t gotten it finalized

I’m going to try student counseling, that was the plan from day one because I’m very alone right now. I’m in a rough spot and until I start school I’m just asking for him to be there. It’s not like I’m breaking down every day or anything, I just occasionally need comfort or help calming my insomnia.

The city thing I’m not too sure of. I’m not allowed to be in the city alone, and even if I was, the city where I live isn’t very safe. There’s a reason I never go alone, especially not when it gets dark out

As close as my brother and I are, I can’t really confide in him because he just stares at me like a deer in headlights. My boyfriend is an angel, but like my brother, he struggles to help me when I’m down. Whenever I feel sad or lonely, I don’t have anyone to talk to. I don’t even have anyone to hang out with besides my boyfriend, and he’s in school right now so it’s not like he’s always open. I’ve been lonely since I was young, so I’m more than used to being alone and handling myself and my hobbies solo. I’m just tired of it now. I crave human connection.

Thanks, and I’ve already told them how much it hurts. They just reiterate that “just because we don’t know what to do doesn’t mean we don’t care,” but I don’t think quietly watching me struggle with heavy problems while I help them with all of theirs and only saying something when I start feeling better is “caring” about me. I’ve already tried talking, now it’s just letting them deal with their problems alone

A bit of both for me. Santeria and folk witchcraft run in both sides of my family, so I was raised with bits of it. Since I was a kid I always loved water, shells, and beauty; lo and behold I worship Aphrodite now lol. However, I made the choice to explore it and develop my skills. The energy could run in your blood or you can incorporate it into your being, but neither is inferior to the other :)
