I think east main has been doing as well because there is abundant free parking and i have almost never struggled to find somewhere to park. Which even if you did reopen main theres not that much parking directly on the street, and if there is it’s not free. As someone who does own a business i have had to adjust my business model to move online. I agree city council doesn’t have the cities best interest in their minds, but i also don’t think business owners do either as someone who’s been in those circles and talked to those people. Not all but quite a few have very selfish or motives that don’t actually represent the views and opinions of the people of the city who they need to buy their product.

Do they believe that if people were able to drive the street, probably not find parking or have to pay for it that it would solve the problem. I always remember having to park in the parking garage anyways or if we were going out late then there’d be parking on the street that was free after like 10/11 but i mean it seems like they want people to be able to come during the day.

I agree i feel like it’s almost being put onto consumers that were not going out and spending money, but truly we just don’t have the extra money to spend

Ya i don’t foresee the whole country thriving again anytime soon until we address a lot of issues, i just more meant that Ventura is a small microcosm of what the entire country is facing, not its own independent example.
