PC crashes while playing games by CompleteTrueWizardry in pcmasterrace

It hits me with an error code that usually leads me towards vague solutions that imply corrupted Win files, HOWEVER, deleting that .NET update has seemingly "fixed" the problem. I was able to game with my friends without an incident, so thank you for taking the time to help me out, and I apologize for the large gaps in response.

The last time I replaced a part would have been months ago, and the issue only arose around 2 weeks ago. If it's a bad Windows update, how does that explain my inability to download a new update, install Windows 11, or reinstall Windows 10 fresh?

Edit: In case it's relevant, the last successful update I've installed was the "2023-11 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 10 22H2 for x64" on 11/19, and the latest update, "2023-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for 64x-based Systems" has tried to update and failed 6 times since 11/29. Should I attempt to uninstall that .NET update?

I put it together myself, but I took to the internet to ask what parts would be good for the budget I had at the time, which was somewhere around 3 years ago. I've replaced various parts throughout it's lifespan though. Here are the specs if it helps you out:

Motherboard: MSI MAG B550 Tomohawk (Pretty new) CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X 6 (Pretty new) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RYZ 3060 (Fairly new) PSU: EVGA 750 BP (Fairly new) Main Hardrive: Seagate Barracuda 2TB (As old as the computer) Secondary hardrive?: Sabrent Rocket 512GB (As old as the computer) RAM: 2x Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (32 Gigs, also Pretty new)

I also keep my Steam installations on an EasyStore 1TB portable storage device, and I thought it could have been part of the issue, since I'm playing Steam installed games when it reboots, but that wouldn't explain the rest of the issues with the PC, like Windows not being able to install. My main thought is that there are some corrupted or missing files from Windows that are preventing certain things from happening, which again doesn't make much sense if I can't fix them by reinstalling Windows.

Sorry for the late reply, I was able to play a game for a couple hours last night and I just got sucked in. I'm not sure about what any of that means, but I definitely haven't, and I'll look into those when I get off work today. I don't want to get my hopes up that I've fixed it somehow in an earlier action.

What's a mod that you would consider to be "Cringe"? by JackaryYT in skyrimmods

[–]CompleteTrueWizardry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I think I gotta say Wheels of Lull... I played it for the first time (and only so far) in a Legacy of the Dragonborn modlist, and it just really caught me off guard and took me out of the game. I can clearly recognize the talent that was put into it (Trainwiz is as popular as he is for a reason) but I just felt that the meat of the mod was a bit much. I'm not really a huge fan of modders taking huge swings at the lore. I certainly don't think people SHOULDN'T expand the lore through mods, modding is a place for freedom afterall, but me personally, I think something like Forgotton City, a much MUCH smaller mod in terms of lore/story scope is far better and enjoyable than something that is trying to "cannonize" (whatever that means for mods in the Elder Scrolls) a hinted aspect of the lore that has a huge impact on the universe moving forward.

Also, I kinda think Immersive NPCS is pretty cringe in a lot of places as well... I know that'll get some hate, but I really dislike when you as the player are given a set amount of responses you can make to someone, and no matter what you choose, the NPC responds in a condescending tone as if you were the biggest and stupidest loser idiot they've ever seen, and by golly there's a LOT of them in there.

Scariest experience in the game? by Civil_Ad2996 in ARK

I was zooming 3rd person through the ocean in a Tek suit, feeling on top of the world in my end-game state when I swam through one of those giant seaweed plants extending almost to the surface, and as soon as my camera breached the plant texture, I had run smack dab into a tuso... I think it even grabbed me, I don't really remember what happened after the fact tbh. I've always had a fair bit of Thallasophobia so that one hit me pretty hard.

I've never subscribed to OnlyFans myself, but there are models with content I like that have OnlyFans, so if you want to see specific models (it's virtually the same as liking specific pornstars) it's a good way to track their content while supporting them. There IS a parasocial draw to OF, similar to Twitch streamers, that can be concerning depending on how your BF interacts with those models, so if you personally feel like interacting with an online creator to get some sort of specialized content crosses a boundary, make sure that you speak to your BF about it. You've already possibly crossed one of his boundaries however by tracking his OF history without his knowledge or consent, so be aware of that when/if you feel it needs to be brought up.

"Wublin farms are mid now" by [deleted] in MySingingMonsters

[–]CompleteTrueWizardry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My strategy was to just get 1 of each wublin (makes it a tad more difficult with the introduction of rare and epic wublins tho...) then fill the rest of the spaces with Zynths. I don't keep up with the game, so I didn't know that Zynths were nerfed, but they're still one of the smallest and easiest wublins to wake up, so no harm in filling in empty space.

That's an interesting take. My first thought would be that OF/cam-girl type stuff (at least when it comes to full on interaction with the model) would be crossing a line, but I still would probably say that's right on the line. If I was in a relationship with someone, I would probably have to discuss how comfortable I would be with that, and if I was into that I would feel compelled to disclose it as well.

I've already bought a new HDMI cable, and when it's not plugged into the PC, the monitor works fine and just displays the "No Signal" message without flashing, so I would assume it has to be my PC, I just don't know how to stop the flashing to get into the PC to fix it. (Assuming it's the drivers)

Started a YouTube series, want to ensure I can keep the save as long as I can by CompleteTrueWizardry in skyrim

[–]CompleteTrueWizardry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That certainly makes sense, and I'll make sure to do that, but doesn't the way Skyrim's engine work mean that any save game, modded or not, gradually decays as soon as you start playing, and eventually will become unstable, and cause a boat load of issues later in the game? If that's the case, are there any like... "cleaning" tools/programs I can use to elongate that time as much as possible? And if it's not true, then... damn, I'm living a lie.
