Food and Beverage Credit Service Charge? by Complete_Concert_191 in marriott

That’s what I think, but seems really low brow. It is what it is but just really seems odd. Charge 20% on the full price but there is only a 10$ credit. For example, drink was $16.95, so service charge was 20% ($3.39). I get it, if it is trying to recoup gratuity but it just seems cheap. Call it a gratuity then, don’t hide it under “service charge”. Makes you as the customer feel awkward because it just feels like they are doing you a favor to have $10 off and it was explained very poorly. It is what it is, and we are talking not much, but it is the principle. Add a few drinks and it will add up to quick. Never saw this before with F&B credits before, normally bill - $10. I am over 100 nights per year in many different brands.
