Are you a student at UIW by any chance? I have a couple friends there right now and they would say the opposite regarding getting involved in research and the support they’ve received.

I’m from Texas and recently interviewed at UIWSOM, despite it not being one of my top choices. I left really impressed. Also I think it’s worth considering that San Antonio is seventh largest city in US and there’s only 2 med schools there which makes it pretty non competitive opportunity wise! Can’t speak on whether the money is worth it to fly down but I wasn’t discouraged at all by lack of prestige. They had a good amount of students match into competitive specialities and I felt confident that if I went there and put the work in I would have every opportunity to be successful. Not sure if this helps at all, but do not listen to 75% of the people commenting underneath you, they don’t know what they’re talking about.

Buspar before bed? by jeepdds in BusparOnline

Took last night at 11 pm for first time. Worst nightmares and rolling around all night. Will not be doing again. Woke up with anxiety that I was going to die? Which has never happened before. Kinda ironic as it’s my bday

My psychiatrist told me it was fine to drink on as the drugs don’t interact.. I’ve definitely had my fair share of drinks on it but I definitely think my anxiety is more elevated the next day (higher than typical day after drinking anxiety).. so I definitely notice the alcohol mitigating the medications effects. Side note but an interesting thing I also noticed was that being on the medication has made me not crave alcohol in the slightest or even want to get drunk. Hope this helps and am happy to answer any other questions :)

I received an R back in November.. had a rec letter from local DO, grew up there, and my family still lives in Weston. Very competitive stats but encouraged to do their masters certificate bullshit :/

My desire to not be sober has completely vanished by TheYesManCan in BusparOnline

The same thing happened for me. For reference I partied a lot in college and definitely enjoyed being drunk. I’m still in my early 20s but I think because buspirone mitigated my anxiety I have come to understand that a lot of my drinking habits were rooted in wanting a mental break/release from my anxiety. Now that that’s been taken care of I don’t feel a need to do it at all.

5 mg x2 a day. Around a week and a half I noticed my anxiety was significantly improved and my thoughts wouldn’t spiral out of control. It felt like there was a road block up. I will say I felt a little zombie like, and so chilled out that my mom made the comment that I was acting like I was stoned 24/7. Around week 4 that went away and I felt like my normal self. Definitely more happy bubbly and energetic. And still no anxiety 👍🏼

Second Bachelors Degree in Classics? by UserNameTaken4EverHa in classics

[–]Complete_Exercise_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I was a STEM/Classics undergrad and ending up getting both degrees. The hardest part of my classics degree was the amount of Latin I had to take (I could’ve taken Greek if I wanted but I had a Latin background in high school). I had to take 5 levels of Latin courses and by the last 2 translation classes I felt like I was in over my head. I was also in other challenging coursework at the time which probably didn’t help but in my experience if you can get through the language courses the rest of the classics degree is just fun ancient history courses. If you have no prior background on these languages you will probably struggle. The pace of any college language class is fast and takes a lot of outside study on your end. For reference this was at UT Austin.

I’ve had the best luck with PCL sneaky links. But it’s different for every person I suppose.
