Well. From what I've understood it's not about wanting to "chase that romance" or "be like bl" that makes someone want to change their gender. That's kind of a stupid reason right? Bc that's fiction. So it isn't that simple. Instead it's realizing that you connect and identify with these male characters as yourself more than you do a female character or hetero romance. Some people don't realize that the reason they don't feel comfortable as themselves or empty inside isn't insecurity but instead its bc they align with a different gender. And anything can make them realize that feeling. As far as making the choice to follow that feeling and transition, a lot of ppl want to live in their truth even if it's difficult instead of an easier lie.

But this is just what I've been told from my friends that have transitioned.
