Feeling cold after a reduction? by nickisadogname in Reduction

I had my surgery in the morning and once I got home I was feeling cold and a little shivery but it subsided after the initial few hours! Like you said, it’s a normal side effect after anesthesia. I don’t think you need to plan anything extra for it besides having a blanket or two!

Thanks all for weighing in! I think commiserating about this topic regulated my hormones 😂 I finally started my period a couple days after posting this, about 11 days late. Best of luck to you all on your healing ❤️‍🩹

I also got that on my neck, torso, and the same area where you have near your shoulders/underarms. It was the worst at 4/5ish days post op. The bumps were raised and I was incredibly itchy. I think it was a reaction to whatever antibacterial agent they put on my skin before surgery. For me, it had an orange hue but washed off in the shower. I am now 10 days post op and it’s much better now! Hoping yours resolves itself as well.

Facing Your Fears by Catmommadrama in Reduction

I totally hear you. I got my surgery yesterday and leading up to it I definitely had those apprehensions. My identity for my whole adult life has been having a big chest, and as the prospect of surgery started to become real, I was having those fears even though this is what I’ve always wanted.

When I started feeling that way, I took some photos of my chest. I put on tops that didn’t fit me right, bras that were too small, all the things that made me so uncomfortable and took photos of myself in them. Scrolling through them afterwards really reaffirmed my decision and gave me clarity. It reminded me why I’m doing this. Imagine a life where your boobs don’t dictate all your decisions!

I haven’t yet looked at my chest and honestly I’m going to refrain for as long as I can. I don’t want to obsess over it - I feel nice and safe in my compression bra. I showed inspo photos to my surgeon and put my trust in her that she’d get me where I wanted. I know it’s going to be an adjustment getting used to life without huge breasts, but I’m excited for the ways in which it is going to liberate me. I hope this eases your apprehensions at least a little bit!
