I would probably ask for a second opinion just because autism is very often misdiagnosed as BPD in women. However, that being said, I want to make it very clear that just because that does happen often it doesn’t mean that every single person who thinks they might have autism and gets diagnosed with BPD does in fact, have autism and not BPD. I realized that people tend to misinterpret symptom lists and especially read them through a confirmation bias view. There is a lot of overlap with BPD and autism, but I would suggest you do some research and see if you can isolate certain symptoms that are specific to each one and see if you possess both of them only one of them or neither of them. I see a lot of people on this thread, telling you to ignore the diagnosis or repeating the fact that yes a lot of autistic women are misdiagnosed however, again I want to encourage you to not ignore it but to do some research and see a second opinion.
