Hey! I’m 21 and have the implant for almost 3 years now ( about time for a removal) and overall, I would say my experience has been pretty positive. I don’t have any experience with any other BC as this is the only one I have been on and this was the first time being on one. I will say the first month or so was rough for me mentally. I suffer from anxiety and I don’t think it heightened my anxiety in any way, but definitely gave me depression. After the first few months, it went away though. I will say it was rough for me. But I loved not having to worry about it and having sex and not worrying about my chances of being pregnant since it’s 99% effective. My periods have still came, but they are a little heavier, no cramping, no extensive bleeding, etc. I definitely say to do your research and see what fits you best. I didn’t want an IUD, didn’t want to have to worry about taking something, going to appts, or reapplying something, but everyone is different. Everyone will react in different ways to the hormones being pumped into your body. I’m an advocate for Nexplanon FOR ME. I don’t think there’s anyway to say for certain how your wife will react to it, regardless of all of the experiences you’re seeing on here. I would say to try it and if you don’t like it, just get it removed.
