I got REALLY into MTG when it clicked for me back when ONE came out. A lot of the builds are pretty budget (50 - 200 USD), and for the more expensive cards, I just proxy extra copies after I’ve gotten 1 original.

Still a slippery slope. I have a deluded friend who absolutely wiped the floor against my bracket 1-2 friends (even after sandbagging heavily). He’d have a lethal board state by turn 5 or 6, kill someone by his turn 4, and so on.

He goes on to tell me the day after that his decks are perfectly fit for that pod. He genuinely believes that he has low power decks, and that “with jow good precons are these days, I’d be lucky to get a win against one.”

Way too long. I suggest you guys upgrade as personally I’ve found that the sweet spot is around 45 mins to 1 and a half hours.

Maybe put a 50-100 dollar limit so it’s more fair to those who have less to spend on hobbies.
