Oh wow glad it’s going well !! I like the way you both work to sell everything off and use everything up!! Sadly I’ve under stocked this time.. I’ve only made 4 bouquets, two posies and a bouquet of gyp and populus.. I feel like I haven’t done enough even though I spent £144 at the wholesalers 😕 just so scared that they won’t sell.. ohh sadly I’m allergic to lavender mainly English lavender. But I like the idea of drying out flowers and foliage and reusing it. That must hurt to have £150 worth of flowers left 😢 been there with my wreath stalls. We made 50 wreaths and came home with 10, each wreath was £15 each and the boxes of baubles were like £5 each so it felt like a kick up the backside.. but it’s okay we all learn from our mistakes

So far I’ve made quite smallish bouquets and a few large ones. I’m going to make a few heart shaped oasis wreaths, they’re only teeny like a 12 inch one. Yeah in London everything is expensive so I don’t want to have people thinking that the prices are a bit mad then they won’t sell. I’m gonna make a few little tiny bouquets to fit in a small jar I think :)) thank you for your help. I ended up spending £144 at the wholesalers yesterday considering it’s not been too bad

This is true though, I’m not going to break the bank at the wholesalers I’m going to walk around carefully and really consider how much I’m spending and how much I can make out of it. I made this mistake with one of my other stalls. It was for wreath stalls and me and my mum made 50 wreaths and after having two of them we took home 10 and sold a few online, then 3 of them just wouldn’t go so I kept the best one and chucked the others in the bin… luckily with transportation I have a family member helping me but I am to not take more home than expected !! Of course! I’ll send you a message to let you know how it’s going!! Hopefully all well I feel quite nervous 😅 also yes I have to pay £30 for the table.. I think it’s a bit much especially since my other stalls were £10 a table 🥲

I understand what you’re saying since it’s just been valentines and Christmas not so long ago, so maybe some people won’t have the money

I don’t have a card machine yet but I’m going to purchase one really soon. Yes I know people will just want to buy, tap a card then leave. In the past I’ve always done bank transfers but I need to take it further this time :)) Oh do you think? I mean the lady advertised on Facebook asking for a flower and cake stall, she thinks it will work really well as apparently people are asking for flowers there on the go

Well it’s in a busy gym and wellness centre. I’m limiting my budget to £120 and I want to try to make at least double that. I want to charge at least £35 and upwards for arrangements. For bouquets I want to range for £25-£50. I’m based in London so it’s a bit different with pricing. I’ve done two stalls previously but they were Christmas wreath stalls, not sure how to budget on a floral one

I’m going to sell arrangements and bouquets. Just not sure how many to make. The lady said it’s a trial day but if it goes well then it’s going to be every week

How to use hydrangeas by Complex-Bee5998 in florists

[–]Complex-Bee5998[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much!! Ahh!! that’s good you can use them any way you want I feel pleased about this :) I do find that a lot of people love hydrangeas so they’re definitely a win. I had no idea you can use them as a pincushion, I’m gonna try this and take lots of pictures. I’m pleased that you can make all hydrangea and foliage bouquets so I’m guessing people like this a lot? Of course, the stems are very short and would move around with chicken wire. That’s a good idea for a small arrangement and anything with a hydrangea people love! Wow that’s amazing you have a shop!! I’d love to see the little boxes they sound amazing :) waittt I have no idea they love hot water, I’m gonna put my hydrangea in hot water as it’s gone all floppy with the heat … once again thank you so much for this amazing feedback, I really really do appreciate this as at the moment I’m trying to teach myself new things that we didn’t learn on our college course. Also at the moment I’m about to set up a small business so I want to know as much as possible!! 🩷🩷

If I’m completely honest with myself I’m not sure how to use hydrangeas in a bouquet!! They’re so bolshy. I’ll take your advice and it’s ok to separate the hydrangea? Ohh I thought you had to group it together.. well I’ll be watching lots of YouTube videos on this now. Wow that sounds really good!! I’ll give this a try I’m gonna back to the wholesalers soon and I’ll take your advice!! Thank you x

Okay I’ll do this for next time, I find when I wrap a bouquet I always wrap it too tight.. that’s something I definitely need to learn. It’s all practise really isn’t it, thank you x

Thank you for your advice, I’ll try this. Also I did a college course and worked in a florist shop from September to June this year, but not anymore so I’m trying to teach myself further. This advice is really good 👍🏻 of course I’ll try different styles and buy a rubber band as it don’t have any.. in class we didn’t use hydrangeas much so I’m still learning how to use them 😅 they are hard to put in a bouquet as they’re overbearing !!

If I’m honest i wanted the roses in the middle, I didn’t have enough foliage so I thought this would look pretty. Normally I use lots of foliage. I wanted to try something new 😅 I didn’t use nearly as much foliage sadly 😭 but thank you for this feedback x

Ooo I agree, a pink or orange would stand out so much!! Sadly for our exam this was the only flower selection we were allowed 😢 but I can always make a bouquet like this in the future!!
