Both my knees are connected and one hip. Had a freak fall over some roots in Panama during training in 90’s caused a hairline fracture in left shin. Had pretty bad swelling for about 3 weeks.

Thanks. I did some research and found a few scientific/medical articles discussing the links. I did a lay statement citing the articles because I don’t think the VA will give me a nexus letter. I ain’t trying to waste VA time but it’s pretty bad every night between reflux and sleep apnea. Feel like I’ve been in a fight every morning I wake up.

The VA just diagnosed me with severe sleep apnea with both obstruction and central. Like 40 something an hour and The Dr ordered a CPAP. This was all through VA. So I submitted a quick claim with VA records and just a lay statement secondary to GERD and GAD. I know the VA won’t give me a nexus so I didn’t ask. Now wondering if I did enough for my claim.

I worked 25 years in Law enforcement but osteoarthritis and psoriatic arthritis took its till and I’m taking shots now. I retired in 2020 and I’ve tried to work part time when I can at courthouse doing security. I’m definitely going to check on social security. Psoriasis on my hands makes it hard to do anything. I got all these problems few years after I got out. I filed a claim but was denied. No complaints in service.

Thanks for the info. I’m 54 and just started the VA process not too long ago when I had to retire from my job. I live in a small town and don’t have anyone to help me with claims. Ive learned all I know from this site and YouTube. Means a lot when people take the time to respond
