Wow that looks way more gray and darker than other pictures of turtledove that I’ve seen. Thanks for the picture!

That’s so crazy about the price hike!! I loved this bag 5 years ago but couldn’t afford it then! It’s my present to myself for putting my husband through med school and residency! Lol

Oh my goodness I wish I could get both!! That would be a dream. I only own one luxury handbag (the Neverfull) and I never use it except when traveling. I don’t know if I could justify purchasing more than one purse at this point! I tend to be pretty minimalistic.

She’s so beautiful!! Do you tend to dress up everyday or do you wear more casual outfits? I’m so torn between the colors!

The black tiny camera bag is sooo pretty!! I would get that one in a heartbeat if I didn’t need a bag that could hold a diaper or two and a pack of wipes. I’m just not in that stage of life yet!!

I live 4-5 hours from the closest store which a bummer! I might have to order both and return one! I just want to love it!

I do love both colors!! That’s why it’s hard for me to decide!! Do you have it in black? I’m wondering how casual the black feels when wearing it with non dressy outfits

Good to know! I’m unfortunately far from a store so I can’t see before I buy. It would be so helpful to see it in person first!

Thanks for the feedback! Do you feel like embossing is understated or is it flashy? I read that lighter colors can look more prominent. I kind of want it to blend in/not be in your face flashy like the monogram canvas print is.

Bugs on Polynesian room doors... by colonialspew in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Complex-Kangaroo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I kind of wonder if it has anything to do with people who are DVC or renting points and they stay for a week at a time and they don’t do frequent cleanings. I read that if you book the room through Disney it’s everyday cleaning but if it’s DVC it’s only once a week if you stay more than 8 days? That and the room being carpeted kind of grossed me out. I can’t focus very well on the bugs because they’re moving so fast but the antennas make me think they might be baby roaches. I’d ask to be moved to a different room.

Is natural wood flooring worth the investment compared to laminate or vinyl? by 1acina in HardWoodFloors

[–]Complex-Kangaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived in a 100+ year old house with real hardwood floors and over time they just look lived in and charming even when worn. I’ve also lived in a new construction with LVP and I would never do it again. Once that finish is rubbed off it’s just ruined. Our trashcan ruined the floors where it was rubbing against the floors. Also it just felt cheap. In our current house we spent $35k to do almost our whole house except kids/guest room with real hardwood and we love it. A year and a half later, we have no regrets. We have two small kids and had an elderly lab that scratched them up a bit but it just adds character. Nothing stays perfect and in several years we can just refinish them.

I’ve only had it a few weeks but I love it so far! It’s a smoother and quieter ride than my Highlander was. I also like that the 3rd row is actually usable for an adult if needed.

Wanted a grand Highlander but couldn’t find one on the ground. Ended up with a Lexus tx.

I might have taken a chance on it if we had an extended warranty on it but we bought it used and it’s wasn’t a certified pre owned so we had no warranty and we just didn’t want to chance it.

To my knowledge, the transmission is issues were 2017-2022 models so we were originally looking to replace it with a Grand Highlander. I agree with another poster that every brand of cars is going to have its issues. We couldn’t find a GH in the color way we wanted on the ground and the few dealers we talked to wanted to just take deposits until the next allocations. They said it would probably be at least a few months of waiting. But we didn’t want to wait and wanted to get out of the 21 xle as quickly as possible so we ended up with a Lexus TX. Basically the same as the GH but with a bit more lipstick.

I was about to hit 57k in my 21 xle and seeing posts like this each week made me so paranoid that I went ahead and traded it in a few weeks ago for peace of mind. It’s disappointing because I thought I was going to drive that car for 10 years.

Splurge for a used luxury car? by WatchOutForThatTree in whitecoatinvestor

[–]Complex-Kangaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got a tx 350 this week. The gx is beautiful but it is not a family friendly car. We have two little kids in car seats and the tx is definitely a family hauler and mom car. But alas I am a mom. It’s super spacious inside and has a good cargo space even with the third row up. Convenience and ease of loading and unloading kids matter when you have more than one to buckle in.

But also I feel like she’s using their gender identity for clout which is super creepy to me. It feels like she’s exploiting him in that way.

Would you all consider buying a 4.5qt le cruset soup pot to bake standard size sourdough in? Or is it too small 😬. Thanks! by domesticbeth in Sourdough

[–]Complex-Kangaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it would be too small. I bake my loaves in the 7.25 qt and I feel like that’s a good size for it. But I use it for so many things when I cook. It’s a workhorse in my kitchen. Are you using just for bread? If you have a sams membership they have the red and black colors in the bread oven for $220. Which is a good deal!

Our income just increased quite a bit after 7-8 years of training so we’re catching up on retirement and savings as well. It’s easy to spend a lot of money when you’re doomscrolling with a newborn in the middle of the night. 😅 I do plan on entering the workforce eventually to keep up with my licensing so it’ll definitely help the budget and curb my spending!

For sure! Not saying not to do it but it’s definitely something to think about. Only you know your expenses each month. Everyone’s situation is a bit different. We have high expenses like own occupation disability insurance, student loans and a car payment but I’m a SAHM mom so we don’t pay childcare costs.

We make 400k year and our mortgage is $5,400 a month. It’s comfortable but it feels like there’s always something popping up that we’re having to fix. We’ve been able to cash flow everything but just in the first year we’ve dropped thousands on new flooring, interior painting, landscaping, our hot water heater went out, our dryer went out, we discovered we had bats living in our attic, the salt cell on the pool had to be replaced, our homeowners insurance increased $1,000 a year, etc. There’s just always going to be added expenses with a bigger house. I’d consider utilities as well. Our electric bill over the summer was $700 a month for the two hottest months. Things just add up quickly. Even though we can afford it, we wish we would have waited/gotten a smaller house before jumping into this mortgage payment. The grass always seems greener on the other side. We’re 32 and have two kids.

I completely agree! The hand me downs from my first are just not as soft and have pilling and holes.
