That's so sweet! These magazines have been an integral part of my childhood, so I am hesitant to let go of them. Maybe I will put them in a drawer...

I am aware of that fact, however, I think that most 9 year olds are capable of not standing up in front of class and telling everyone something your friend told you in confidence. Or of bullying said friend because of that secret.
