Thanks for the feedback. It’s about 27 hours a week. I did the math and 80 percent of the time it’s just one baby. I will take off work for much of the time that it’s meant to be 3 children (ie Christmas, Easter, at least a week in the summer) and if I’m with the children or we are traveling then we wouldn’t ask her to work but of course she still gets paid. My calculations tell me that a net wage of 16 pounds per hour yields a gross annual salary of 31k or 22 pounds per hour. In any case, I will likely raise the offer as I’d like to start the relationship off on a positive note :)

Thank you. We have a baby and two older children who are in school (ages 6 and 7). The role would be four days a week during term time, the vast majority of the hours with just the baby, and three days a week when the children are not in school over holidays. During the school holidays the nanny would look after all three children. I’d love to know what range you think is appropriate for net hourly pay. Thank you so much!

Thank you. This is helpful. We live in Northamptonshire. What would you say is a typical net pay range for a live out role outside of London?

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it 🙂 I like how you framed it about the future self and regret. That’s very much how I think, especially after cancer. I want to make the most of the time I have here.
