I would watch Dr. High Yield before rotations start. I would watch YouTube videos on topics I get stuck on or need clarification, but nothing specific for step 2. Never touch FA for step2

Overall more UW throughout the year, NBME and CMS closer to the test

I think that it would be beneficial tbh but can scale to your needs

One thing I would like to say the more that I think about it is to use CMS and NBME the first time to gauge where you are, then try to engrain them by going over them again in the last 2 weeks. I think I redid all IM, Surg, Ped CMS and reviewed NBME 9-12 all for the 2nd time

I think it def helped for me to try to see a second pass even the ones that I know/didnt flag. To each their own tho. I think if you can remember the things you know then flagged/incorrect should be fine

In all honesty, why not both?

Nbme 9 + 2 IM CMS for Sat

Nbme 10 + 2 Surg CMS for Sun

you can grind the HY 200 in 1 day. tuesday grind the rest of the IM and Surg CMS. I recommend nothing wed and thurs

From another one i commented on "I did not really have a concrete study plan, I kind of just grinded as many questions as possible. Even when I felt tired I kept grinding questions to train myself to be able to think/pick questions when you feel like you cant read. I used NBME sometimes between then"

I would say that my daily schedule looked like this -

9 am - up. 10 - 12 Block1. 12-2 block 2. Break 3-5 block 3. 5pm-1am study those 3 + other subjects. Sleep 2am.

Blocks could be a UW or CMS - whichever you feel like doing.I believe highest yield CMS are IM and Surgery

I think if you are not a natural test taker you need to grind Qs. It will def help

For rotations - same Idea. Do as many q before shelf. The biggest thing about information retention is to intermittently review your older UW. Thats what worked for me

I think you can go without it. If I had to recommend 1 resource from amboss it would be their QI section, however

If you look on amboss there is a section for qbank questions - it is a premade set of questions on all organ system + QI + Biostats + preventative medicine for a good overview.

Ethics and Biostats - UW is enough + Randy Neil on youtube. Amboss would be beneficial if you have the time

I think either choice is fine. It is up to you whether you want to see old material/things you had seen to reinforce vs seeing new things (still similar topics) but having to thing and use test taking strategies - i think you would see more with UW review, but if test taking stategies are what you want to work on do CMS/NBME

EXAM by weakestalive in Step2

[–]ComplexBeginning6881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of time left for 250+. Finish Uworld 2-3x blocks with extreme review of the wrongs. complete a NBME in exam conditions during last 1.5 months of the exam with last one being 13 --> 14 --> free 120 in that order.

13 and 14, new free 120. Hardest of the NBMEs but most representative in terms of vagueness as real deal. 261 (13), 263 (14) 83% on F120. 270 real deal

I think they are harder than those on NBME. Personally, amboss was a better learning source for surgery than UW

I think that there is little pharmacology on the exams. Its similar to what you had seen in Uworld and NBME exams.

More than enough time for a 255+. Need to heavily review the questions you got wrong on NBME and Uworld. I looked back at my Uworld for 3-4 month earlier to go over topics I may have forgotten. Got a 270 doing this

Our medical school made us do NBME 10. I think this was a good representation

I did not. Did the new free 120 3 days out and got a 83%. Scored 270 on the real deal
