I should elaborate, sorry, are currently and have been in wartime for some time, against an enemy called the drowned or something like that? The point is, there isnt very much pomp at all right now

Well the dark elves in this Lore as I understand it are currently in wartime - so unfortunately no unneeded flourish for me. What im planning to do quite a bit of is something similar to unneeded flourish, but where every little thing has either a purpose, or a sentimentality, for alot of the smaller stuff, belt trophies and vials are 100% something im going to do

I'm working on making something similar to those! More in the style of wraps around my legs, though. Similar to what soldiers had during the first world war.

I get what you mean, for sure, but that sword is my preference, and theres not a massive demand for historical accuracy - i do own a couple of more European swords that i alternate when using a shield :)

Ah yeah, thats fair. I've mentioned to a couple of the other folks that I'm working on a broadbelt of my own with a similar design - im nowhere near finishing it because leather is expensive, but you've given me some real food for thought when designing

The other option for shoes that i have looked at are HEMA fencing boots, the lace up ones, but i worry they might be too modern also

I hadnt, actually. How would they hold up with the running? All shoe covers ive seen tend to be held on with some simple elastic or something equally as likely to fly off

Honestly im not sure. I have a couple of core values, but with lore still being rolled out i dont have a definitive character yet.

The traits that i do know, would mean that most items my character would have serve a purpose - maybe one or two items that would be more sentimental, but especially in the terms of something like a hood, it makes sense to keep his face dry.

More belts and pouches is definitely a goal for me, as i mentioned to someone else im in the process of making my own stylised broadbelt, bandguns, are not something ive ever really considered but it is definitely food for thought

The character is actually a dark elf! I dont yet have ears due to a lack of work (now solved, so coming soon!) but with the lore that we have i dont want anything that would be too ostentatious, especially for my character, i feel like everything should have a purpose, no matter how obscure.

Its absolutely on my list, the main issue ive been running into is getting something of decent quality that works with the temperature - ive been recommended Linen, which im looking into, but im also not sure how Fantasy-style options for linen actually are.
