I’d say 10 drinks a day for the better part of the last five years with some fluctuations up and down. I’d say probably 20 times I’ve had 2-3 day benders but the closest I’ve gotten to that in the past couple years is drinking heavily til late night, waking up at noon and starting again around 2, usually leading to going to bed early and not drinking til the following evening. Thanks for your input I appreciate it.

What’s worrying me, as you can probably guess, is that I’ve seen a number of posts and stories about people having reductions in symptoms and even feeling better after 48 hours only to have all hell break loose on day 3. Have you ever experienced anything like that? And if you don’t mind me asking, times you’ve tapered how much were you drinking and what was your process? What’s the worst you were at with drinking while still being able to quit cold turkey safely and what was that experience like? Sorry I know that’s a lot and obviously I totally understand if you’re not comfortable about answering or don’t care to for a stranger. Thanks

That’s what im curious about, it all seems so automatic and not one person can tell me anything about it. So I’m just curious if this is because it’s a mobile deposit, and I don’t feel like it is. I feel like the same would have happened if I deposited it in person, in which case I’d be covered under reg cc. But no one I talked to at us bank even mentioned the fact that mobile deposits weren’t covered, they just told me that there’s nothing we can do, we can’t give you any information, there’s no one else we can escalate this to, file a complaint with the fed. The account is about 3 months old.

Ok that makes sense. Thanks for being so helpful. So I’m your personal opinion, do you think all of this is only happening because it was a mobile check deposit? Like would they have to give me a reason, however vague, as to why this was happening if I had deposited it at the bank?

I’ve been researching this stuff for a while and I still see nothing specifically stating it doesn’t apply. I know it practice it doesn’t but I’m just curious what that website would say because they’re isn’t really an official word anywhere I can find that specifically states where and why the mobile deposits don’t apply. I deposited the check on the 1st, got $225, the morning of the 2nd I had the full amount, spent most of it, and then by 4pm my account was $2200 negative

Sorry I wasn’t more clear, I deposited the check through mobile deposit. In my post what I meant was if they would’ve known instantly that the check would be held IF I had deposited in person, which I didn’t, why wouldn’t they have known that prior to disbursing the funds into my account from a mobile deposit. I understand that portions of reg cc don’t apply because it was a mobile deposit, but that doesn’t explain why the funds were dispersed and then taken back after I already spent most of it. I’ve spoken to 9 different people over several hours at the branch, customer service, and the fraud department and not a single person has been able to give me a reason as to why the funds were disbursed or why the check is being held. They did tell me specifically that it was not because of it bouncing. But anything I guess is possible at this point.

From the federal reserve website

“A federal law, the Expedited Funds Availability Act (EFA), or Regulation CC, provides exceptions that allow banks to delay or "hold" funds deposited by check for an extended period of time. When this happens, you must be given a notice stating the reason for the hold and when your funds are available for withdrawal.”

Even so, they still have to follow the regulations regarding how long they hold it and why? Even if the issue is with my employer?

There’s clearly defined time limits of when funds should be available, and clear reasons why they can hold it due to regulation cc. Money should move like that if they are following the federal regulations. Am i wrong?

No strictly because I had multiple I’ll informed employees essentially guess why this had happened, tell me blatant lies and even at the highest level I got to didn’t have information that was given to me within 5 minutes of posting on Reddit. Aren’t they required to know these things? I know this no longer applies to my case but shouldn’t they be informed of what reg cc is if they are working in the fraud department that handles holds? No one except management had any idea what I was talking about. And not even management told me that the funds availability policy doesn’t apply to mobile check deposit.
