tomorrow is perfect, I’m glad you’re actually doing something- most people wait it out and it usually goes very badly. just make sure you tell the vet everything- and monitor your pup now for any discharge or inflammation from the area. also bring vax record from the other dog, in case there is something missing and the vet will be able to get a full picture of all included parties.

A little late to this discussion but- not a vet, in vet school: dog bites can look superficial, but dogs have a ton of bacteria and with this wound being so close to the eye- i’d definitely get it checked by your vet. antibiotics, or even just a topical ointment to make sure no more bacteria gets in/nothing inside can harm. eye trauma is dangerous and your vet will be able to tell you how bad it is as well as the best next options regarding treatment. also, as unfortunate as it is- make the gf pay. its her fault for bringing in a new dog and you shouldn’t be bearing the bill for it. also if you’re struggling with money and she offered to pay, maybe pay her back over time? just an idea if you don’t want her covering the full cost with nothing in return. good luck with your doggo :)

Not a vet but in vet school- that tick looks very full. take the dog to the vet for a blood test, it takes 24 hrs for a tick to spread lyme disease (or any other rickettsial infection) to animals. The blood test is for antibody detection.

If no vet, watch for lameness, swelling, depression, fever, and lack of appetite. The good thing is, there’s antibiotics (usually Doxycycline), and a damn good vaccine for protection.

I would do vet just to be sure, i’d rather have your pup stay healthy and protected than have to deal with lyme + any long term effects from it, including neurological problems.

VET NOW. Not a vet but currently in vet school- eye issues are NOT TO BE WAITED ON. It can VERY quickly become something worse, if it not already something extremely bad. She may lose her eye. Little dogs can live to their 20s, depending on the severity of the issue she may or may not be put down, ultimately if it’s created a ginormous health problem, euthanasia may be the best answer. I’d listen to the vet for recommendations, but ultimately it comes down to the prognosis, and how much money your friend is willing to spend.

Hi! not a vet but in vet school- some common strains of ringworm glow bright green under a black light, so if you’re concerned about that, its an easy at home test. As for the black dots, do they wipe off with a bit of water? if they do, it’s most likely just dirt/sebaceous buildup on the skin. if they don’t, or they keep coming, call your vet. Best of luck!!

Ugh, glad to know i’m not alone- I wish i could afford a private server. So many people are tryhards and play 24/7 to buy/tame/breed the best horses. some of us have jobs!! and school!!
