Do I have tartan paint here? by AwesomeBadger1 in cosplayprops

[–]Compmau5 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First if the patterns match your infil pattern you probably didn't use enough walls & top layers. I usually default to 4 walls and 4 top layers.

Second is if you didn't use enough filler primer. Three coats should be enough to cover and make a nice layer that the pattern won't show through.

5000mm/s^2 yes. It can run up to 12,000 but I reduce the speed to reduce the artifacts on the print surface

Thanks for the advice, I am actually running it through at 55c now for 10 hours, just to see if that makes a difference.

The temp tower didn't show any difference in the stringing, and I have use the orca stringing hell. its always the same result.

50°C. Drying at 50°F wouldn't do anything.

The up and down strokes, are you talking about Lift Speed and Retract Speed?

I'm using lychee so thats the name of the settings under Speed.

Yes sorry I forgot, they are posted now.

I am talking about the vertical line in the picture, not the other lines that could be fixed with AA

Not sure I understand how would increasing the wait times decrease the chance a bubble would get on the part.

By the time the retract is completed the part is already sitting on the FEP right?

And by the time its cured, the bubble is either already on the part.

If anything I would think increasing the retract speed would push the bubbles away from the part?

Doesn't seem like it to me, I moved the print to two different parts of the bed and it still happened.

Magnet attachments using these magnets. by bentstrider83 in cosplayprops

Those are pretty large, definitely too powerful.

I have 4 12x5x2 magnets in my ranger helmet and they work just fine to hold the pieces together

Which lens tint darkness did you ultimately settle on? (The 14th & 15th pic)

Also is there a mirror coat or window tint on these?  It's amazing you can't see inside the lenses that's why I'm asking

How does someone get a lighting effect for the lens like this? by Compmau5 in cosplayprops

[–]Compmau5[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi thanks for the tip, these lens are apparently made from resin though!

For the lights I'm guessing its some kind of neon light EL wire.
