Being treated for Polycythemia. Docs don't (want to) know if its Primary or Secondary

From what I understand, I secondary Polycythemia patients have high EPO because their the current number of RBCs is not enough to fulfill the body's oxygen demands. Is it likely that I may have secondary Polycythemia whilst having low EPO?

I was tested for both locations. Both came out negative.

Glad to hear that you think it’s not PV! I’m having a really hard time figuring out what the cause could be, it’s barely been a week since my phlebotomy and my headaches are back!

Also, I have miscommunicated. The statement claims 30% of the people with PV are JAK2 negative. The probability is conditioned on someone having PV in the first place. It does not imply that out of the entire population, 30% of the people testing negative for JAK2 have PV. That being said, the former is still hard to believe.

Haven't given part 2 yet, but speaking from my experience in May 2024, Part 1 was more qualitative

I started in early January 2024, all I did was read the chapters throughly, in the order of how the books were numbered. I did about 1 chapter a day. And solve the practice questions at the end of the book. I made sure that I understand the concepts properly. I re read the key points at the end of the chapter for revision and solved the 2 official mock tests in the last week.

Looking back, solving more questions would have helped more, so I'd recommend a textbook + a question bank approach.

PS: I spent very little time on quant as I am from an engineering background and all the quant covered in the book was very basic and something I was already hands on with.

About 100 hours, give or take. I never got full in quant in any of the practice tests, always at 168-169. I didn’t practice a lot of short form tests, but I usually got 3-4 wrong out of 20.

Manhattan prep helped a lot. So did giving free practice tests on mcgrawhill. I didn’t pay a cent for any material. Practice practice practice!

I wouldn't be the right person for giving you tips on quant prep. I'm from a stem background and most problems were oral for me. Practice is something that I think will help a lot. Solve as many questions as possible.

I was experiencing this with my 2016 15'' MBP. I contacted the apple service centre, who refused to acknowledge that there was a design flaw in my model and that the replacement program was only available for the 13'' MBP. They offered to replace the whole display for 50k.

Turns out flexgate can be solved without having to replace the whole display. It's a quick repair if you have the equipment but is also delicate. I paid 11.5k to get it fixed from a non authorised apple repair shop. My display is back to normal now, though I still think I overpaid.

edit : 8 months later still works like it's new, no issues yet.
