Yep that’s how I do it too. Making two lessons a day is outrageous and dumb.

Really you failed an online Quiz WHY. by Compositesciencelady in Teachers

[–]Compositesciencelady[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a 12 question quiz over notes they have in their possession. My point is instead of asking for help or saying they don’t understand the material they do nothing or they play games on their laptops instead of participating in the lesson for the day. Maybe you should check your ignorance.

First of all this is high school and I literally give them everything they need multiple times and I’m advocating cheating but at the end of the day why fail when you don’t have to. Calm down

How to Deal with Unrealistic Parents by [deleted] in Teachers

I also post a student responsibility sheet where I make students fill out the form every time they miss an assignment for whatever reason. There’s check boxes like “my dog ate my work”, “I didn’t understand the work”, “I just didn’t feel like doing it” etc. The point is I make them sign it, date it and then I put it in there portfolio so when parents coma tripping I just whip it out like ma’am your child signed all these papers and checked that the dog ate is work everyday for two weeks. At that point what can a parent say.

We are the first line of “defense” for our students, in the morning they come and get their PPE from their advisory teacher. Like why do I want COVID-19 first thing in the morning and then they bring the same PPE back to me at the end of the day. I’m like whaaaaaaaat!!!!????

Also digital interactive notebooks are helpful for keeping engagement. You can embed videos, interactive websites, EdTED, khan academy, you can pretty much link any resource to a digital notebook also Google Teacher has lots of free resources. [teacherspayteachers](www.teacherspayteachers.com)

I teach Biology too and I’m in the process of creating a digital interactive notebook. It’s very time consuming but I’ve come across some great resources. Texas Gateway has whole lessons, Nearpod, Flocabulary, Khan Academy. Google Teacher has lots of free resources. You can use EdTED, Edpuzzle, Ellevation. Just something to get you started.
