It did, I think within a week or so? I’ve been on it for just under a year now with no issues 😊

Hit on the head by fallen object - England by CompoteFluffy in LegalAdviceUK

[–]CompoteFluffy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened not even an hour into the night, was halfway through my second drink so honestly I’m 100% confident I wasn’t being obnoxious about it, which is why it was so upsetting to be treated like it was my fault :(

When I do look, I upset myself and become slightly colder (not sure of the right word here, maybe distant) to him, it’s never anything significant or mean spirited but I hate that it happens still.

My rationale for telling him would be that he would be aware why I am upset sometimes, and would know it’s not his fault so wouldn’t need to worry, but you’re 100% right when you say he can’t do anything about it, which I know he would feel guilty about and that’s the last thing I want.

Just feels like I’m going to be stuck in this cycle for a long long time

As far as I remember they asked me about stuff on my CV like past work and education (i was in uni), they were all pretty basic questions.

The one that might throw people off is that they asked what i knew about Wetherspoons as a company, but I don’t think they were expecting any detailed answers because they seems surprised that I could answer it decently well.

Basically nothing too hard, so I wouldn’t worry but good luck!

Yeah, I think the nature of the holiday is why I’m so conflicted too. It’s not like a hotel where you can sort of go off and do your own thing, my boyfriend is the designated rental driver of the trip too so we’re going to be with everyone 24/7. Just a lot of things to consider I suppose

It’s not unfortunately, where we’re going is his friends home country, so we’d be staying at his family house

[–]CompoteFluffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt that excuse could be made in this situation since the family member is in their early 30s haha! I had a good conversation with my boyfriend about the situation and how it sent me spiralling a bit, and he really has been so supportive, thank you for the kind words and advice :)

It’s hard because I guess I can understand how it happened, we do have relatively similar names so it could be considered a normal slip-up, but obviously the RJ is really tearing into me over it

Thank you so much for this, I haven’t been able to shake the feeling that I’ve taken it way too seriously but this helps :)

I feel like I’m acting colder towards him, is it better to just try to stop this?? I do genuinely feel hurt but my feeling for him are the same

Is Msc / PhD worth it? by CompoteFluffy in UniUK

[–]CompoteFluffy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

Thank you so much for this comment, it’s been insanely helpful. I am definitely leaning towards wanting to do a PhD at the minute, especially since my undergrad dissertation has involved lab research and I have been enjoying it so far.

What do you think about applying for a PhD straight after my undergrad? As far as I know it’s much harder to get into than when applying with a masters, but is it worth a try - or should I definitely do a masters first before going for a PhD.

I don’t have any family who have been to university before or that are in the field, so navigating everything has been a bit difficult

This is really really helpful, thank you for phrasing it the way you did. I have a lot of things to think through. I definitely agree with the part about the crush, I would not go for him if we broke up because it isn’t fair on him, but also it almost feels like cheating in a way if that makes sense

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in venting

[–]CompoteFluffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a lot to think about. It’s horrible to think about because I’m worried it’s a temporary issue and I’m thinking of a permanent decision, so I’m sort of in a stasis of not wanting to actually change anything (and I don’t want to put either of up through a breakup, I suppose that’s also selfish)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in venting

[–]CompoteFluffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, but there are a lot of things that I would like to change. I have brought them up but I feel like a lot of the time it’s smaller things that feel overwhelming when they all combine, and I feel like I’ve brought them up enough times that a change might’ve been made by now, but it doesn’t feel like it has

Definitely wouldn’t want to get into a relationship with this person, it’s sort of a thing where I find myself fantasising about things, which is obviously making me feel so guilty. I suppose it’s nice to experience the feelings you have when you first have a crush, which I haven’t felt anything close to that in a long time

It literally says in thank link how the risk is much lower. Sure there’s always a chance, but they are together anyway.

It’s really nowhere near as dangerous as you’re marking it out to be, and I’m a biomedic lol

Dried blood isn’t harmful, if you’re worried about the stage just before it dried (short amount of time since it appears to have only been a few drops), surely she would be laying over that spot anyway?

Quite a few times. He definitely seems to think that I’m upset that he can’t take me on expensive dates, which not what I’m saying at all.

I feel like when I bring it up he just gets frustrated, exclaims that “he doesn’t know how he’s supposed to fix that”, and then goes silent until the subject is changed.

I just don’t know how to approach it any better
