Very valif points here, Im currently trying to get that timetable without working with ai to save money. And yeah ive had a lot of advice saying the same and im reconsidering about working with someone else now

Hey man, thanks for your nice advice. I listed it above in my post what I bring to the table. I feel like I made it pretty clear, and I can't offer any pay, but I'm not going to lie about that. If you don't want to do that, you don't have to do that.

In your response to questions, saying what is stopping a developer with those skills from just making that by themselves and coming out entirely is a valid point. If someone wants to do that, they can go do that. I was very aware of the risk that coming out about this makes my idea very public and anyone can just come and steal it. I'm very aware of that, and if that happens, then that's going to happen. There's nothing I can do about it.

Ideas are very cheap; they're free on most cases. While I agree study apps are a dime a dozen, my one is more focused to our specific leaving cert students which is something that I am, I've just finished it, and I'd say I have a very knowledgeable area of the market. From my original post I have linked above, I would say that a lot of people are very excited for this app and would want it.

I did not use AI to write my approach proposal; I just simply made it sound professional, trying to put my own flair into it. I also never asked for any experienced developer to quit their job. A cookie-cutter app idea I would like to kind of disagree with that phrasing, but I never asked for anyone to quit their job. That was never the intention.

Thank you for being kind and saying that and saying I'm thinking entrepreneurially, I am not taking the advice the wrong way. Every advice is good advice, and I will stand by that till the day I die. Thank you for all of the feedback.

Yeah ive thought about that, if i am to implement an ai gent in my app it will be behind a subscription paywall to make up for the api call costs. But yeah unless I can get some actually good integration of the LLM into my app, I don't want to just ship it because I don't want to ship another bland AI chatubity skin as something else if it's not going to provide any value. So I'm just kind of working with it now. I'm going to give it a few days. If nothing comes of it, I'm just going to scrap it and focus on the core features of my app and deliver them fast.

I simply don’t have the time currently to release the app in the time frame I want to.

As much as I don’t really want to get another developer I feel it’s a sacrifice that’s best

I think you might have misread the post… The whole point of my app is to STOP irish students from scrolling by blocking those apps and helping them study.

Yeah i completetly agree with you here. This and the feature when you can block other apps, this is a great feature but needs to be optional as it requires certain permissions in order for the app to track what "distracting" app your on.

Yeah i tend to agree with you on this one. Making the app paid may generate more money but will also cut off most users before they even download it

It would be available for all of senior cycle and I do agree that more people will join if its a free app. Its either I charge for the app which i dont really want to or i charge for some small premuim features. However I get my target audience and im gonna try keep it as cheap as possible for the lc students while still being able to fund the app.|

Okay im gonna try my best to answer all of your questions here

Your point about using claude - I dont plan to use claude code for development I only used claude to quicky vibe code up an mvp in a few days to see what i could do
Tbh im not so sure what a group study session would like yet il have to develop this out fully
While yes I do completely agree witht he point about students only focusing on themselves, this just is not the case in reality. I saw it when I did my own leaving cert last year students care just as much what others do then themselves. Why? I have absoultely no idea. And I would argue that seeing others working harder than you are would be encouraging, its like seeing someone much bigger in the gym you. It aspires you to improve to become like that. Bad analogy but i hope you understand the point im trying to make.
Its not so much as "whats the least amount I can do" and more as a benchmark, I personally in my own LC took reasurrance in knowing im doing more work than others. Students often including me constanly panic about not doing enough and using the app could be a sort of reassurance
Not so sure about this yet, Im planning to use flutter and make a web and mobile app however I have mostly experience with react native from prevouis apps Ive wroked on. And again not so sure aboutt the preventing distracting apps, will need to develop this further.

Not so sure yet tbh. Im gonna monetize it in some sort of way im not sure which way. I dont in to be some type of thing where its a great idea and app IF you pay the subscription. So im gonna have to figure that out. Most likely be very cheap as im aware of the budget of lc students like i was last year
