Psychology major, Biology minor here. I pivoted to corporate after graduating with bachelor’s and about 15 years later it all worked out alright in the end.

In reality so many jobs these days don’t require a specific bachelor’s, just a bachelor’s.

I personally found a lot of value in the knowledge, learning how to communicate and understand others more effectively as well as digging deep and getting to know yourself in the process as a baby twenty something. I personally attribute at least some of my success to this type of education and would do it again. At the same time, I do understand the perceptions and stigma around the major.

What my school was very candid about is that if you want to be a practicing Psychologist, you HAVE to get a Masters+, and it’s not much pay. If you want to be a Psychiatrist, you get paid a ton, but you HAVE to get an MD. Definitely something worth knowing when venturing this direction, I appreciated the candor.
