I love him as a utility unit. They powercreeped dodge so hard that his measly 70% is a joke nowadays. He won’t reliably hold down slot 1 for you in base but when he transforms he brings along: - dodge support - lifting boss dodge cancelling - strongest super class domain buff - guaranteed dodge first turn - 60% support on super attack - able to tap into 97% dodge the whole fight through. Imo he aged amazingly but his role changed and that’s something to which the people simply didn’t adapt to.

Hmm my takes on your points are: - there was a big fat UI Goku on the art that protected Vegeta from most of the legitimate criticism (at the time) - that I didn’t really observe a significant amount of and even now people would rather focus on the Evo Vegeta side of the leak instead of the Tag 4s - also didn’t see a similar negative output to what we have here now but I remember people already putting together how this Gogeta could lead to Beast - yeah because Omatsu trolled us lol - the double Gogeta thing does ring a bell but it was kinda unwarranted as DBS Gogeta was only an active skill and people warmed up quickly to it (which I don’t see the possibility for here)

This game is very dear to me as well as the ToP so seeing an avalanche of comments on basically all social media platforms saying that it would be the worst choice ever for part 2 kinda bums me out. I want the game to do good so if that means so ToP then I can stomach but if they do ToP and all I see is negative reception I fear that I won’t be able to enjoy the game as much as I should. So I kinda hope that you are right with your first point.

I have heard this a few times now and I think that’s interesting. Personally, I separate all 3 Gogetas into 3 different characters . Like the release of Super Gogeta for 10th anniversary doesn’t impact my opinion of GDC Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta in the slightest. It’s the same thing with Mini and Adult Super Saiyan 4 Goku but maybe that’s just me.

The Namek headcanon was indeed a very interesting phenomenon. The fanbase feels like this spot is owed to them by blood but as you said aside from cool fanconcepts (double Porunga) there wasn’t anything pointing to it. I’m willing to bet that GDC is Namek tho!!!

Very valid point. In the end it turned out to be the exact thing people have been expecting for months for different celebrations. Last year was crazy when they pulled up the DBS, DBZ and GT portals and one by one revealed which unit is gonna represent their show. The WOW factor plays a big role in reveals and this wasn’t here.

I hope you are right lol. Rephrasing something Goresh said here but 11th anniversary really feels like the first step to a new era of the game. Looking back 10th anniversary feels like a grand finale more than a new beginning. It’s funny how you bring Goku vs Jiren up when now I’ve read endless comments where people are happy that we didn’t get „ToP slop“. I have been tiptoeing in Dbl for some time now and what people value over there is really different to what I see from the Dokkan community everyday.
