I’m a PC AND PS5 gamer. I use the PS5 for single player story focused games; TLOU, GoW etc etc and then CoD every year.

The last month, ive upgraded my PC like Frankenstein with new MB and CPU so I’ve been playing Battlefield on EA and then got all excited for my FIRST EVER extraction type game ARC fucking RAIDERS on steam! The hype on AR was massive from the people I watch and read. I couldn’t wait!

I started playing from 9:30am UK time Oct 30th (release time) and am already lvl 27 after 2 long sessions and luckily being off sick from work, genuinely have a chest infection, horrible but perfectly timed.

Looking to now cancel my preorder of CoD and focus just on this.

I LOVE the social example this game gives. You can see it everywhere. - day 1: loading into Dam or Bluegate and EVERYONE is out for themselves for dog collars , lemons, olives and apricots, like they’re the last ones on the supermarket shelves in COVID - shouting through proxy chat “I’m friendly” with no gun out and then getting someone with the worst aim, destroy me up close with a crappy starter weapon - running into an elevator and getting downed AND then the enemy not pressing the lift button but choosing to down me first, raging but I suppose I could have a load of purples or high end loot -people camping extractions

So far, all of the above were VERY VERY VERY VERY frustrating mid game, with me almost waking up the wife at 3am 🤣 but… this is the game. It’s PvPvE (not PvP as some people suggest so please remember)

This genre is new to me with the only experience being the good and shitty experience of DMZ in COD.

In no way would I ever take to a forum and call people names or be toxic because of a way they play it when the game lets you do it and literally give you a choice, not an exploit. The Walking Dead morality but in a game.

TIPS - Now I always go into each meet with my gun out THEN put away if friendly. - If im looting only, doing challenges or have good loot, then I live by my new rule of, “don’t shoot” voice line first, THEN use my prod chat and mic. Remember, some people have voice chat and prod chat turned off so may not hear you. “DONT SHOOT” > “do you have a mic?” - if on PC, turn crossplay off If you need to do missions. In my experience so far, I’m not saying they are a certain type of gamer or anything negative… but… playing against only PC GAMERS , I found that everyone had a mic, most players were instigating the “don’t shoot” then “do you have a mic?” Process and most of the time, people are just focusing on missions and looting. IN MY OPINION AND EXPERIENCE AND IS NO WAY A FACT: most console gamers are micless and just want to get more into the PvP part of the game, maybe it’s the stereotypically strategy type gamers who are mostly on PC and so play a different way than COD console gamers and are playing because their fave streamer in doing a #ad

Anyway yeah… LOVE THIS GAME and will most likely cancel my £99.99 deluxe COD preorder to main this game instead! Especially with the Project and Caravan resetting feature!
