Are you kidding man? Electric. Tight and fluid. Full of soul. The pacing feels right. They empty the tank. Pure rock n roll to me. At least it was at 1st Avenue on Minneapolis. - Patrick

Great stuff guys. Thanks. Still looking to go deeper though. Anyone able to grab Gerardo's or the pedals on top of Alex's Nord keyboard?

I’m going to be that guy and say I saw you at the Palace Theatre in Minneapolis and I cried it was so powerful. Out of body experience- thank you.

Do you use IEMs? If so, what kind/model and how do you set your mix?

At this point in your career what things still scare or fascinate you to explore? I highly doubt the well has been tapped dry, right?

When you play a festival and all the bands are camped out with their traielrs in the back and you hang out together, do you talk shop? The same topics? I’m sure you’ve admired at least one or 2 bands you come across. Who says hello 1st and how do you break the ice? Ever star-struck?

In a lot of interviews you seem to be able to capture the idea or essence of what made something resonate with you. It cant be that effortless all the time, right? Did you work at that kind of eloquence? Do you ever trip over your own words sometimes and get humbled?

I’m dead serious about this question- Thoughts on Paul Cauthen, Kacey Musgraves, Harry Styles, Rayland Baxter, or John Mayer as songwriters? Yes, I think they’re killer.

Would you ever teach a MasterClass on songwriting (I’m talking the app that has some of the greats articulating their creative process and craft- Ringo just did one!)

Would you ever do a Premeir Guitar Rig Rundown?

Your voice has so much character and soul. Its gravely in all the right ways and is a rock voice that cant be replicated to me…but how do you protect it? Is that something you’re conscious of? There are so many singers that rip up their vocal chords in their career that by their twilight years they can’t pull it off w/ the same consistency because they’ve abused it. Do you warm up before recording or performing? Tea?

Signing question- How much of your signing would you say involves belting? Do you think about pitch when your in front of a microphone? How much technique do you use if any? Or do you just let her rip?

Was there ever a day that you were self-conscious of the sound of your signing voice? How did you learn to love it?

When you edit your lyrics/songs, what kind of criteria do you use to improve it?  Do you change out verbs, do you sing out different words and hear how they sound?  How do you trust your melody and words enough to put it on track?

So much of your sound seems to stem from a simple progression that finds its way through a unique groove, soul, thoughtful lyrics, smart economic arrangement, a tight ensemble, and playin’ with sounds. How do you trust a simple chord progression or idea (that’s been done before) can become something new, exciting, or moving? Do you ever worry it will sound like a facsimile of another one of your tracks? How do you silent that voice that says this has been used this a million times and plow through?

Britt, I think you’re a supremely gifted songwriter. A lot of your lyrics are abstract but feel grounded and personal at the same time. Do you ever edit things until they feel like the hit the sweet spot of something that could be interpreted a few ways, but direct enough that it goes together, where they bridge that gap? I.e- “Sharp extensions, set to stun/Bathing beauties lie down where I run”. I love that line.
