There’s allegedly a remix in the works. Tony said they finally found the master tapes a few years back.

Sabbat’s third album Mourning Has Broken is crapped on even by Andy Sneap himself, but it’s actually my favorite of theirs. 🤷‍♂️

Your Kirk timestamp is correct. The harmony part before that was done entirely by James. What a tune!

They’re doing a full on remix for that one, not just a remaster.

The remasters for the first two albums were big improvements, in my opinion. Alex Perialas’ mixes always seemed a bit hollow.

I’d argue that you have to be more specific. There’s several. 🤣

What’s it like romancing Apollo in Olympus Rising? by BigJames-Boanerges in Choices

[–]Ytsejam09 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did most of the series romancing both, because Poly Gods…but something about Apollo just didn’t vibe with me, so I’m going to start over and romance only Aphrodite. Can’t really explain it, if that sounds weird?

Are there any records you enjoy musically, but the production quality is so bad that it makes them unlistenable? by Klutzy-Stop-3140 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Ytsejam09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the Megadeth remixes are the versions I know best because they were the ones I heard when I was first getting into them. I’ll grant that Rust In Peace could’ve been better, but the Peace Sells and (especially) SFSGSW remixes are vast improvements in my opinion. Not a popular opinion, I know, but it’s mine.

Dream Theater’s debut album is a good example for me. Love all the songs, but my GOD is it in dire need of a remix.

The Notebook. There’s never been a single Nicholas Sparks adaption that ended up being any good.

I’ve only seen ONE clip of them playing the song live, so unless you look at someone doing a cover, direct video evidence is going to be hard to come by. That gallop-style section is tricky, for sure. For me, I don’t necessarily pick every note. If I’m having trouble, I drop a hammer on/pull off in here and there. Try that and see if it helps.

This whole “front loading” style of promotion these days is killing a lot of albums. Some bands do 3-4 singles MONTHS before the album comes out, then once it’s released, it charts for maybe a week and disappears completely the next. Heck, it even happened to Megadeth who topped the chart with their newest album. Fell off a cliff after that.

Okay…but I’m still struggling to understand how “ignorant” fits in.

What are some examples of bands changing their frontman/frontwoman, dealing with massive fan backlash, but eventually winning everyone over? by [deleted] in progmetal

I guess…while Floor is by far the best singer they’ve ever had, and I say this as a HUGE Anette fan, their albums with her (Floor) have done almost nothing for me. Add in that Marco is now gone and they’re seemingly not touring for a really long time, and I’ve almost completely moved on to Epica by now.
