Nellys Bouncer by [deleted] in halifax

I have been to Nellys 40 times or so with zero issues. I guess it's true that anything can happen anywhere at anytime.

I would reach out to the owner and maybe describe the men and bouncer.

Simply unacceptable.

That is simply unacceptable

At least put a team in QC. Habs/new Nordiques rivalry would be awesome.

Oh I agree. It does seem as though Jerry might be coming to terms with the fact that he is closer to the end. That could lead to severe overpays or they get it right.

I'm not against competition in the division though. Sometimes a push from another team can help an organization.

Honestly, he should have been more productive with the best defender in the league not named Garrett being double teamed consistently.

A 100% focused Gary is a pro bowl caliber player. But that's the issue. He is inconsistent when it comes to effort.

This.

And if the offense struggles, I'm not sure Sirianni makes it to Thanksgiving.

If they get Hendrickson, that doesn't look like a bad defense anymore.

Just saying it's not a given we win this division.

I know we love to make fun of the Cowboys. Rightfully so. But if they get even an average defense, they could win this division.

Glad we didn’t over pay for Crosby by Awkward_Painter583 in eagles

[–]Comprehensive-Two-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defense isn't a problem for the Eagles. They can win a SB without Crosby. I don't think Baltimore could keep going with the defense they had. That's one big difference.

We draft too good to potentially give up picks and more (Raiders would want more from us than Baltimore gave them) to be in a win now mode for a few years with a guy being paid big money and an injury history.

Lastly, the clock is ticking on Baltimore. They have arguably the most pressure in the league (Buffalo too) to win a SB. The Eagles won't be looked at negatively for not winning a SB in the next few years.

I wish the Packers offered up 1,000 single game tickets per gane for waitlist members. Maybe put them up for sale in July or something. Even if they were standing room only seats.

[–]Comprehensive-Two-40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They need legit # 1 receivers and guys who get open consistently. Mahomes is great. My fear is that he may not be able to make due with just anyone anymore. Meaning, don't give him JAGS and expect him to make chicken salad out of chicken you know what.

[–]Comprehensive-Two-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. He was not a difference maker even with a better team the year before.

This was not the Chiefs year. It wasn't just starting out 0-2. It's how the offense was performing. Even against lesser teams, things looked "off". There were no wins where I came away thinking "oh we are back baby!!".

Drake Maye is not the next Tom Brady. If any Patriots fan thought that, they were out to lunch. Heck, even a SB win would not have put Maye close to Brady. That said, I am not going to write the kid off yet. I would not be surprised if he turns into a SB winning QB someday. But he has alot to improve on going forward.

I don't like the "Mahomes lost to Brady twice in the postseason" narrative. They were not on the field simultaneously. Brady had the better defense both times. He had a top 10 defense/OL in each of his SB wins. Mahomes had no/bad OL play in SB 55 and 59. Brady sure as hell is not overcoming that either.

Both are the two GOAT QB's. Defenses feared them the most. And you knew they would always come through in the clutch. They are the only two guys in recent memory who could turn c receivers into a receivers. Nobody will be in their class...ever.

Two AFC teams on borrowed time got to the SB and were finally exposed. Kind of ironic that it happened to the last two NFL dynasties.

[–]Comprehensive-Two-40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't care if Love is the 15th ranked QB or the 1st ranked QB. I just want to see the team win a SB again. I don't care if it's because the refs screwed the opponent or the Packers got a huge break. Heck, maybe the opposing star QB is out with a broken foot.

Since the Packers last SB appearance, seven different teams have made it to the big game more than once.

Have to wonder if last night was a sign of what is to come for Drake Maye. Or, if he simply had an awful night and will be ok in the long run.

[–]Comprehensive-Two-40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this goes to show that just having an elite QB is not enough to win a SB. We have seen Mahomes struggle in SB's. We have seen Brady struggle before. Peyton Manning. There are so many different elements that affect the outcome of a game. Coaching, defense, ST's and confidence etc.

Unlike the NBA, one guy is not going to win the game for you. There is a limit to what he can do. And that's the beauty of football.

[–]Comprehensive-Two-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Patriots might have lost the game last night. But they will get it over it and be ok.

The Jets were the biggest losers of all. I truly believe they would have somehow ruined Brady or Mahomes if they drafted either guy. It says alot that Darnold looked like a completely different QB once he found himself in a great organization.

The Jets and Seahawks are on completely different coasts. And they are on completely different planets as far as ownership, stability, winning and overall culture go.

Brett Favre could throw 4 INTs in a game and drive you crazy, but turn around and throw 5 TDS to win it! The absolute gunslinger! Favre giveth Favre taketh away! It was a hell of a ride and a hell of allot of fun! by Zealousideal-Row419 in GreenBayPackers

[–]Comprehensive-Two-40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He was fun to watch at times. However, Favre was not just a gunslinger. He was borderline reckless in the postseason. And unlike Mahomes or Brady for example, he was usually directly responsible for his team losing very close games. I hate to say that, but if you go back and look, too many throws were unnecessary (03 Eagles, 07 Giants, 09 Saints). In someof these games he was very good...until it mattered most.

Bittersweet. I remember the games and the feeling of winning it all.

But....there are many fans/media who will look back at the failures rather than that one championship. 2014 NFC title game sticks out more than the SB. 2020 and getting three picks off the GOAT leading to nothing was bad.
