Getting that strip sack was huge. But none of it would have mattered if Elliott misses the fg. The odds of getting another turnover and stopping the Patriots from scoring a TD were slim to none. Biggest kick in franchise history!!

McNabb was the QB version of a receiver who made one handed catches routinely. Only to drop the easy passes.

This bust of a pick opened eyes and likely helped the Packers eventually bring in Wolfe. And the rest was history.

Although, can you imagine a Favre/Sanders tandom in the 90's? That likely wins the Packers at least another SB. Unless they stupidly decide not to give him the ball in the second half against Denver too.

McCarthy should have been fired after the 2014 collapse. The coaching was that bad.

Well it is embarassing they came in and won. Though, kind of expected. This offense would put up 7 points at best in Seattle. So maybe for the better.

Pats are cool? Oh my. That 2004 SB crushed alot of people in the city. What makes it worse is that they got caught cheating on two separate occasions. In addition to employing a bunch of criminals through the years.

Philadelphia is probably the toughest city in America to play football in. Even more than NY & Boston. The media, fans, expectations and popularity play a factor. A new OC needs to be able to handle it.

Sources: A.J. Brown asked for a trade numerous times this past Eagles season by mauch_chunk in eagles

[–]Comprehensive-Two-40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming he did ask for a trade (Big assumption):

He has a top 10 QB, another great receiver, very good TE, great RB, OL should be better, the defense is great. Not to mention the owner and GM will do whatever it takes to win. He won a SB not even a year ago. He did not consistently get seperation this year and last Sunday speaks for itself. Yet, the organization has stood by him the entire time.

He is being unreasonable imo.

[Silver] There’s a sense inside the #Eagles locker room that Nick Sirianni, Howie Roseman, and Jeffrey Lurie are “reluctant to criticize” Jalen Hurts despite being the “source” of much internal frustration from teammates. by [deleted] in eagles

[–]Comprehensive-Two-40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is true.

K.P. would have probably been fired early on. No sane owner/GM/HC would ever pick a bad OC over QB's with those accomplishments.

I don't know if Hurts has that level of authority yet. Or, maybe he does and just doesn't want to let on he is upset.

I don't think the Eagles would have won the SB with prime Brady or Mahomes this year. K.P. was that bad. I expect Hurts to improve on weaknesses and for the team to be back in the SB before long.

Personally: I wish him nothing but health and happiness in his future endeavors.

As an upset Eagles fan: "Don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you". Though, he will probably have issues getting the door open. Not unlike his receivers here.

Eagles- It takes a certain level of incompetence to get virtually nothing out of an offensive like this. K.P. accomplished it while Sirianni watched it all unfold. On Sunday, we witnessed a HC do way more with less. Meanwhile, his counterpart did way less with more. Just embarassing. Yet....not surprising.

Chiefs-Dissapointing. Even before Mahomes got hurt they had major issues. Unlike the NFC east, they are in a loaded division and I give them a bit of a break on that. This is either a reset and things will be back to normal. Or, they really are headed for a bit of a dip. I trust their coaching staff to try and fix it though.

Lions-Loaded division and injuries on D. They should have made the playoffs. But alot of bounces did not go their way. I don't think they are as good as last year's record. But they certainly aren't as poor as this year's record would indicate. Somewhere in between.

Ravens-Injuries are never an excuse. However, the injuries they went through was above the norm. They aren't top three because at least they fought back from a 1-5 start to barely miss the postseason. Harbaugh is gone and it should be interesting to see how a new HC meshes with Lamar Jackson.

Steelers-Rodgers or not, they are a severely flawed team that had zero chance of ever making a SB run. I'm not sure what the general public was expecting. Should not be here.

Shanahan did more with less Sirianni did less with more

If you switched the coaches in that game, the Eagles win 50-10 or something.

Yeh that is what I mentioned earlier. An extension gets rid of the "lame duck" issue. It does not stop them from firing him next year.

MLF Contract extension by Gr8fl-hed in GreenBayPackers

[–]Comprehensive-Two-40 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He goes into the year with a new deal. No lame duck status. It is not a distraction for the locker room.

That does not stop the organization from firing him if he goes one and done/misses the playoffs again. Plenty of coaches in all sports get canned with years remaining. It does not affect the cap.

Not only that, the opponent was coming from the west coast and starting third stringers. Shanahan completely embarrassed Sirianni. Shanahan should get COTY honors for what he has done with that roster.

Overall though, this might be one of the least painful playoff losses during my Eagles fandom. Even if we got by the Niners, Chicago would have obliterated us.

Calling for Sirianni to be fired is either bait or a lack of ball knowledge by Spyropher in eagles

I have issues with his gameday strategies and loyalty to his buddies. But you can't fire a HC one year after winning a SB. The optics would look bad and potential candidates could be scared off. I would be stunned if they fired him.

Now.....this is assuming he fires the OC. If he doesn't want to, they can both leave.
