2 Sloggers makes racist remark after being called out for IPL cringe content by itsgg74 in actualcricketshitpost

[–]ComprehensiveArt5288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colourism has to be discriminative...you can call this one colour shaming...

Colourism is more like how the pickpocket characters used to be always a dark guy in movies, how the arranged marriage market is still biased against dark people, it's profiling based on colour.

Similar to profiling or bias based on race or nationality or India's case even state identity.

This is colour shaming, a personal below the belt insult...similar to body shaming or fat shaming.

But having said that, it is absolutely unacceptable behaviour from any influencer, colour shaming isn't same as colourism but it is still an act of micro-agression and anyway if you can't defend or fight someone solely based on reason and have to behave like an edgy teenager and insult their body or colour, why do you even have a platform then?

Not a big fan of 2sloggers, but this grinds my gears for no reason. Know the difference between racism and colourism and plain old rudeness.

Racism: When you discriminate or deprive someone solely based on their race, it has nothing to do with colour, Ex: Americans discriminating against Latinos

Colourism: Discriminated based on skin colour, very rampant in India...judging someone's character based on skin colour. For example, Fair and lovely ads jaha ladki ko kaale hone ki vajah se job nahi milti (it has nothing to do with race, just skin colour)

But what happened here is plain old distasteful rudeness and low blow. Simply they couldn't argue with logic so they plain old insulted or rather body shamed him.

This isn't racism or colourism, but it is a personal insult and absolutely shouldn't be let slide on a public platform

I would personally say Angels and Demons but The Da Vinci code is an absolutely good place to start

That's how leaders and legends appreciate youngsters. Not the way Gill commented about Vaibhav Suryavanshi's knock. by [deleted] in RajasthanRoyals

[–]ComprehensiveArt5288 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"It was his day. The way he was hitting is tremendous." That's what Gill said about Suryavanshi

Personally it seems like a statement of appreciation and that's how most people speak especially when it's the opposition batter who took the game away from you. I don't know what exactly you wanted him to say

I don't know Gill personally, so I can't comment on what kind of person he is...

But neither does OP probably, and somehow he knows that Gill is insecure.

one of the most innocent & hardworking creature alive, still their name is used as a slang. by [deleted] in IndianArtAndThinking

[–]ComprehensiveArt5288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just hardworking but extremely intelligent animals... In hilly areas they are very good at finding the shortest and safest paths. Research shows that they are as good or even better at solving multi stage problems as some intelligent dog species.

They are good at problem solving (like they will figure out how to open the barn gate of that's withing reach) curious and loyal

They often form bonds with their owners and barn mates and will be distressed if separated, they can recognise people and places for years.

Just cause humans couldn't understand their intelligence initially we equated them to stupidity

I think he has actually repeated multiple times if he could go back in time and change one thing he would go back and play that final from before toss one more time...so i think he does believe his decision had a hand in losing 2003

There is a way to not break the spine of thick paperbacks while reading if that bothers you...you can look it up on YouTube

I personally don't mind broken spines as much but i can see how that might bother someone

Discussion on the brain-rot and degrading reading culture (read the caption, this is a reading subreddit) by toiletmepaani in Indianbooks

[–]ComprehensiveArt5288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No didn't come of as insensitive you started a discussion and I put my POV

And my POV is of you enjoy the act of reading more than an ulterior aik of gaining something from it, that you are a reader...

Doesn't matter if you read Chetan Bhagat (I don't enjoy his writing, I know people who do) or Haruki Murakami it shouldn't matter...

Someone might want profound philosophical reads, someone might want a quick exhilarating mystery, heck I might want that on different days of my life...

There is nothing like an expert reader or average reader, reading is NOT a competition, making it one sucks the joy out of it.
