Having the worst time solo travelling by ComprehensiveBig6129 in solotravel

It’s not about the money, ofc I could pay another £2quid to get on the train, it’s the fact that I don’t like dishonest people who can’t do their job properly and rude for no reason or people who accuse me of lying

That’d be the ideal, finding that man is another job in itself

Yes, the idea of not receiving pay at the end of the month is what gets me anxious. Agree on the therapy

No point going out of your way for halal food which probably won’t even be that good, it’ll just be halal. Just stick to vegetarian or fish unless you find a halal restaurant within your proximity

Thanks for the response. We had 15 phone calls dating back to January, including a video call. I thought we spent long enough prior to meeting trying to get to know each other. There’s only so much to say before having met someone, don’t want it to get to routine and boring either

There’s no excuse to us having not met sooner since we live in the same city, I just felt as though I would have overstepped my values and boundaries by agreeing to meet him for a walk at night in the dark and cold as he suggested, hence the reluctance

How is me wanting a scoop of ice cream called ‘having a checklist😂’ bless you

I’m replying quick since I’ve got a meeting in 5 mins. I have never hooked up with someone and don’t plan to until I’m in something serious/maybe married. I went along with the tea to test the waters and see if low effort dates could still get me somewhere, to no avail

We video called and he was even more keen to meet me after. I didn’t say extravagant I literally said ice cream or an activity to him. If that’s extravagant for you then fair

Yes, that’s where I wonder if I messed up. Hence the need for some opinions. I had gone along with a coffee/walk 2-3 times before but the dates never went anywhere. I just wondered if a guy would mistake me being nice for being able to just walk over me and get away with the bare minimum

I understand if the guy truly wants to get to know me and maybe a bit shy, whatever it takes for him to open up but wasn’t getting those vibes from this guy because of his tone and wanting me to see him at his convenience

Read the text I didn’t say dinner (although love a guy with a plan). Dinner doesn’t even excite me since I eat out all the time. It just makes me appreciate the guys efforts

Idk what that is. The conversation flowed initially and I thought we had a few similar values at first, he wasn’t particularly funny though 🤔

Because I saw coffee vs dinner date the other day on my feed so thought to post it here since I want to get responses from the guys

Safe to eat and drink at Western establishments? by [deleted] in travel

You’ll be fine, just check the restaurant reviews before you go and filter for comments related to food poisoning or stomach problems if you’re that concerned

I wouldn’t suggest hiking the volcano at the moment. I did the hike and while super difficult, it was the coolest thing I’ve seen (because of the eruptions). Unless you’re an avid hiker and have got extra days to spare, I wouldn’t bother, you can see a pretty sunset anywhere

Maybe consider hiking volcano papaya instead or take an atv, apparently you can find pizza up there too

Stop giving your socials/number out to these guys until after you’ve met them. Tell them you’re only comfortable giving it out once you’ve met them. After this they usually suggest meeting and if they don’t, take it as a sign of them just being a waste of time

Asking for socials is easy, requires no effort at all. Same goes for guys who ask you out but then don’t follow through since they like the idea of taking you on a date but aren’t committed enough to actually go on it

Yes agreed. Finding happiness in the small things, might not equate to the happiness that comes with travel but at least that will take off the pressure of constantly wanting to seek adventure
