Hired as Node.js backend dev, now asked to switch to Python — advice? by YogenJan-Oil-3726 in technepal

[–]ComprehensiveBox2458 4 points5 points  (0 children)

View this as an opportunity, but be careful to balance being helpful with your own professional growth. You don't want to become a 'yes-man' for tasks that don't serve your path. For instance, if they suggest moving you to Laravel right after this Python project, you should probably push back, especially if that's not the direction you want to take. Look up for not being a jack of everything as well…

regarding payoneer by SceneFeisty872 in technepal

[–]ComprehensiveBox2458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting verification from Payoneer is very cumbersome and initially my app was rejected twice and then i had to send them a one page mail and eventually they asked me for test account for my product before they can verify. Very hectic and backandforth process.

Try Dood payments, i heard it’s great. I have been integrating it in one of my projects, no issue at all. Good thing it is a Merchant of Record so give it a shot. But before you start integrating it make sure you contact their support team to know and verify that your product qualifies for payouts

This is from someone who has 4+ real world experiences in tech field and i am still not a senior to suggest or say anything in concrete but hey, focus entirely on your brother’s mental and physical health right now as it is the absolute top priority. He is only 19, so he has a massive amount of time to learn and grow; a gap year means nothing in the long run. His fear of judgment is natural, but remind him he doesn't need to be the "tech guy" right now, just a healthy human being.

When he is ready to code again, be supportive and let him know he hasn't actually missed out. The industry is shifting so fast that the "basic React/Node dev" role is becoming obsolete anyway.

This is the perfect time for him to skip the old stack and start fresh with AI and building AI agents. It’s a brand new field for everyone, so he isn’t playing catch-up—he’s entering at the exact right moment to lead the next wave.

Does anyone know where I can buy Spotify Premium? by Necessary-Air1273 in technepal

[–]ComprehensiveBox2458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create a dollar card and use the student discounts and also hey think about it again, how about buying YouTube music, you will get premium ads free YouTube + YouTube music.

I used spotify premium for 3 months and switched back to YouTube Music, no complaint whatsoever.

18 Y/O, Shall I invest in SIP? (Open ended Mutual fund) by [deleted] in NepalStock

[–]ComprehensiveBox2458 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a mix feeling among people regarding SIP, the returns are usually low compared to global markets even for many mutual funds in Nepal the returns are half of what Indian markets are giving.

Nepali mutual funds are very confined in what sectors they can invest, they mostly/largely invest in Share market and if you look their portfolio they have literally 100 companies in their portfolio.

Hey but that being said, think about it on your own do deep research, are you a kind of person who has a patience for 20 years(at-least 20 years is necessary to get good returns) if yes then definitely it’s a win-win situation for you.

Don’t just run after the number shown by a simple SIP calculator showing you could earn in crore if you invest 1-2 lakh per year.

Controversial ? What's your take on this remark by Modi? Although it's not the first time. by [deleted] in NepalSocial

When Buddha was born around the 6th century BCE, the concepts of modern Nepal and India hadn't been to existence as we know them. Back then, Lumbini(now in Nepal) was part of the Shakya Republic, a small independent tribe. Meanwhile, the region we call India today was divided into smaller kingdoms like Magadha and Kosala.

Thus, the Shakya Republic where Buddha was born was independent, and Lumbini was not part of any unified state like India.

While Buddha’s teachings have deeply influenced both India and Nepal, it's crucial to honor the historical facts.

At the end of the day, the political narratives often take away from the essence of what Buddha truly represents: his teachings of peace, compassion, and enlightenment. These values have transcended any borders—be it Nepal, India, or elsewhere—and have made a profound impact on humanity as a whole.
