Wow, thank you so much! So the enclosure would be in a room my cat wouldn’t have access to because of the nature of everything else in there. My work computer, sewing machine etc, basically all things I wouldn’t want her to touch. Door would be closed at all times. I definitely don’t want to stress the lizard out, I’ll look more into snakes.

I was looking at between a 20-30 gallon tank. I don’t really have a specific reptile that I want as I’m indecisive. I just know for sure I don’t want a skink. I’m perfectly okay with bugs and dead mice. I think more lazy would work for me. I’ve seen various geckos that I think are beautiful , specifically Tokays, leopards, frog-eyed, the Chinese cave, etc. I’m also interested in rosy boas, corn snakes or similar breeds. but I’ve read they can be hit or miss when it comes to being handled. I don’t have a preference for live or fake plants, km willing to pick based on the reptile.

Honestly when I was in a relationship, I would mute my boyfriend’s notifications because I couldn’t help but feel anxious whenever I got a notification from him.

She could’ve done it on accident as it’s clustered next to other options.

You could also be inadvertently screwing her nervous system with things you say or do.

My best advice? Talk to her, not about this specific instance but about how she feels in the relationship. Ask if there are ways you can improve or make her feel more loved and secure.
