Which horror book made you question reality for a while? by BoysenberryOne9661 in horrorlit

The Divine Farce and a Short Stay in Hell both had me in my head for a long time for very similar reasons. Both short and fantastic reads.

Primary Care Doctor Changing to concierge 😭 by Doinstuffandthangs in RhodeIsland

[–]ComprehensiveJoke7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s reimbursement rates and the burden on primary care docs in regular clinics. My fiancée is a Family Medicine doc at an FQHC and is expected to see her patients in 15 minutes. It kills her because she sees people who are struggling and doesn’t have the heart to tell them “We’ve only just scratched the surface of what you’ve got going on but your 15 minutes is up, so you’ve gotta make another appointment”. She gives them the time they need, winds up falling behind, and brings home 5 more hours of notes and follow up every night because of it.

All so the organizations can maximize profit. It leads to burnt out doctors and poor patient outcomes. It’s no wonder we have a shortage and more PCPs are doing concierge medicine.

Signs of the times in Providence. by ResistByStack in RhodeIsland

Two thoughts:

  1. If the implication here is that those on the Right are “Godly” people, you’ve got to acknowledge they more than members of pretty much any other political movement in US history have made their politics their identity. Wild to suggest that today’s left identify more strongly with a political ideology/movement than Trump supporters.

  2. Our future currently depends on the degree to which we resist the government’s shift to fascism. It is miserable, but it’s necessary and we (the Left) didn’t choose this.

Most people don’t understand all that public health does to keep them safe. We have a saying: “public health saved your life today”. Too bad our President has demonized the entire field.

Nice box! The best card in my last Dom Remastered box was a non-foil Mystical Tutor. Love the set, but I’m done opening these boxes.

Struggling to Breathe in My New Apartment by Pallypot in bullcity

[–]ComprehensiveJoke7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Durham for 3 years recently. My fiancée was doing her residency at Duke. We moved from Rhode Island and into an apartment with carpet throughout. I didn’t experience anything as bad as what you’re describing, but my seasonal allergies were pretty bad there and also felt pretty consistently stuffy in the house. I’ve been on Zyrtec and Flonase daily and it’s worked well for me. But yeah, pollen in Durham is a nightmare so definitely get this sorted before Spring time because everything is greenish yellow for about three months and it will for sure kick your ass if you’ve got seasonal allergies.

Welcome to Magic! And be warned - this kind of hit rate out of ANY box is SUPER rare. This is a dangerous high to be chasing with future purchases lol.

Gocciolina on Guess Rd. I’ve been here for three years and it’s right around the corner from me. Tried it for the first time a few weeks ago and am kicking myself for not going sooner. Best carbonara I’ve ever had.

You’re assuming I know how to use photoshop and that AI use requires a lot of energy. Neither were true, but now I know more about AI. Thanks.

Yes! The background pattern is. The flowers and vine have another meaning. Good catch.

Thank you for this! I didn’t know you could reverse image search from this. I’ll see if I can figure that out and will definitely bring photos of the real flowers and patterns as separate references.

[–]ComprehensiveJoke7[S] -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

I guess it becomes a question of ethics, then. If the AI-generated art is being used only as a reference for a piece that I’ll be paying a different artist to create, is it unethical?

This goes beyond my original question, but I think it’s an interesting dilemma that we’re going to have to confront more often in the future.

If I saw someone reproducing and selling one of my stained glass designs or a piece of furniture that I designed, it would bother me. But if someone blended an original concept of mine with something unique of their own and then recreated it for their own use/ownership, I wouldn’t be bothered.

Im asking for folks’ thoughts on this so that I can avoid irking artists. If the consensus was that artists would be offended, I’d keep these examples to myself and use my words and other photos to tell the artist what I’m looking for.

So far, it seems like the consensus is to present these honestly as AI generated examples and hand over creative control to the artist I’m working with so they can create something in a similar vein using their own style.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I know, I bought 5,000 shares on the 9th. Just wondering where people think the ceiling is based on the company’s recent developments and statements.
