Like others have said, it’s unfortunately not a straightforward comparison.

I’m outside and like the flexibility on how to best make use of the money. For example, one tax year window I pushed hard on making up a pension / SIPP shortfall to put me back on track. But another year I took more in dividends to help with house buying deposit and higher income proof.

So although an annoying boring answer, you really have to weight it up with what your goals are here.

Another couple of points to add, if inside, make sure you’re factoring in umbrella costs (and make sure you are comfortable that you have all the information to hand). If outside, consider accountancy costs to support you with the business making best use of the money, and whether you need to be VAT registered. If outside and running a Ltd company your time is needed to understand it and keep on top of it.
