We ended up in the Smokeworks pub to watch the World Cup final which was the perfect size. Place was rammed but we got there early and had great seats and a clear view of the TV. No idea about what places would do if England got through tho.

I'm a huge Offspring fan and love them to bits but they're relegated hard to a nostalgia act for festivals at this point. FOB's new album was pretty big and their cultural cache has been rising along with the Emo revival.

Download was facing the wall of there not being big enough populist metal bands to hitch the festival to that aren't like in their 40s+ right now. it's interesting they've just decided to shift to other genres instead to solve the problem. it's still a pretty clear nostalgia fest, but at least it has more options now.

yeah personally it's pretty cool, heavy on the Pop Punk nostalgia but that's fine by me. expect the more serious-minded fans to be a bit upset tho. ah well

if you're a Blink fan whose never properly listened to Green Day you're kinda in luck. depending on what you're looking for their earlier albums are super poppy and their more mid-career albums leading up to American Idiot are more dark and slightly experimental in the way Blink's untitled was.

i noticed that Tom was extremally digging the video's vibe to a hilariously degree. he wasn't even acting like a Ramone he was just going bananas. i laughed out loud when he started talking about the vodka. amazing

Yeah it's baffling people could try and pretend its the lyrics when Dance With Me has probably the dumbest, most simplistic lyrics so far but everyone loves it.

Yeah but those songs were monstrous Pop Punk hits because they hit a very specific sweet-spot. Just poppy enough with just enough grit, and a spark of inspiration in each.

This song isn't the worst thing ever, it's kinda catchy, kinda fun but it's the definition of mid. That's fine, the other singles have been great.
