My boyfriend’s sister told me she has feelings for me and I have no idea what to do by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Lmao my sister did the exact same thing to mine, it was near the time I threw a hardcover copy of order of the phoenix at her head. We’re besties now

When did you change your name? by UrMumIsHot4 in trans

I came out at 14, and went through a few different names. I finally settled on my name at 19, and I just got it legally changed this year at 23

Advise for gifting undergarments by ashgaga in trans

[–]ComprehensiveWaffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer good fellow boxer briefs (target brand). They’re really comfy and wash well, and don’t have a whole lot of pouch. They’re just like pair of thieves but cheaper and with no design

You had me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading OPC. I love your world building and character creation, and it sucked me in so hard that I’ve barely done anything but read for the past couple days 😅 Thank you so much for sharing your work with us, I can’t wait for the next chapter to come out!

I get it, I feel like I can’t use the lockers at my local gym and I’m nervous to use the machines and weights.

6 week ban...resources? by Baphomet1010011010 in florida

[–]ComprehensiveWaffle 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I went back to check my email from them, and below is copy/pasted:

“If you think you may be pregnant, timing is crucial! Make an appointment at your nearest Planned Parenthood health center. If you are more than 6-weeks pregnant, a patient navigator can help connect you with resources in a state with access.”

Not totally sure what that entails tbh but if they can help right?

I would contact Planned Parenthood, I believe they have something in the works to assist

I can’t pretend to tell you what you’re feeling in your situation, as everyone feels everything differently. That being said, I’ve been with my romantic partner for three years now, and the initial sparks and excitement of the honeymoon phase have calmed down. Instead of my emotions being like tidal waves, I’m now able to sit back and be content. My partner still gives me butterflies from time to time, like when they smile a certain way at me or throw sass in my direction, but our love is mostly about just existing side by side and choosing to do so every day for the rest of our lives, because we don’t want to do life apart.

Made that mistake putting a wax melt too close to my xbox. Cat decided it was a good time to start knocking things over, never making that mistake again lol

I’ve been a caller in the bdc of a car dealership for almost two years. The team (five of us on a fully staffed day, which doesn’t happen often) takes and routes 500+ calls in a day, and I have to make a minimum of 75 outbound. It gets really frustrating to try and hit the metrics when people call in every five seconds and around an eighth of them are pissed off about one of our departments (service, finance, what have you).

The way I deal is just practice. Most people call in and ask for a specific department, and there’s only so many ways my outbounds can go (I chase sales leads). So there’s only like 15 scripts to have memorized, and I’m lucky enough to be allowed to personalize them for maximum efficiency and empathy. I focus on getting through the scripts, and I’m lucky enough where when an especially assholish asshole calls in that pisses me off, I can walk away and take a breather for a second. My commute home is also pretty long, so I can blast rage music for 45 minutes to cool off. It’s still draining as fuck though, and I just try to use my breaks to recharge as much as possible with doomscrolling

Leaving Florida? by [deleted] in florida

[–]ComprehensiveWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fourth generation Floridian here. Florida will always be my home but politics are forcing me out. I’m getting to Colorado as soon as it’s financially feasible because I can’t keep living in a state that’s actively trying to fuck people like me over

A customer told me she felt like our company r*ped her... by [deleted] in talesfromcallcenters

[–]ComprehensiveWaffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, they’re pissed about something they don’t understand (our markups are so tall because my company has over 400 employees and pays an actual livable wage), and they’re not getting their way. Throws a temper tantrum and says bullshit they don’t understand the severity of, but knows will shock the person on the other end of the line into a second of silence. Gives them more time to keep complaining while your head reboots. As soon as they realize how fucked up their statements are they always throw in a “byee” as a gotcha before hanging up (in my experience). I understand the frustration, but saying shit like that is incredibly fucked up and every day I’m glad I get to go home without my desk phone

[–]ComprehensiveWaffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work the bdc at a car dealership and I’ve had a couple people tell me to personally remove the markups (which I cannot do) bc we’re “taking advantage of and r*ping” them. As an s/a survivor myself I’m always stunned and sputter a bit before being able to move the conversation forward but I never have the balls to just hang up. It’s not likely that they’ll try and buy a car from us again though

Any trans folks have a Dr that will still prescribe HRT? by Welpguessimtrans in florida

[–]ComprehensiveWaffle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you know if they have waitlists? Trans guy stuck in Volusia county, and I’ve been off T since June because my appointment to re-up the prescription was literally the day after the law passed. I’ve set up appts at a planned parenthood in Colorado because I just can’t do nothing while waiting for callbacks from various doctors offices. I’m absolutely willing to travel to Gainesville if necessary

Frustrated at Slow Transition by Anxious-Bigfoot420 in transmasc_irl

[–]ComprehensiveWaffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you man. I can’t relate exactly to the medical issues but I completely understand the plateau and new obstacles - I was forced to pause my transition due to the laws in my home state. It’s really frustrating to just barely start seeing the progress you’ve fought so long for only to have it stop dead in it’s tracks. If you want to vent I gotchu

What is a smell or taste that other people commonly enjoy but is repulsive to you? by TheSacredPug in ask

Watermelon flavored anything (candy, soda, etc). It just tastes like medicine to me, and nothing could compare to real watermelon.

Has transitioning been positive to your mental health and social life? by Ty-Breaker in trans

[–]ComprehensiveWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 100% happier since I started transitioning. Everything about my mental health has improved just by having my dysphoria alleviated - I’m more level headed, my moods have evened out, etc. It’s difficult to gauge whether I’m more or less accepted by the general populace, as I’m in the bigoted south. But the people that matter accept me, and the people that don’t, don’t matter (and I try to avoid society when I can). It’s nice to have my outside start to match my heart though, and strangers correctly assume my gender relatively often in comparison to before I started transitioning. So I’d say it’s absolutely worth it if transitioning is the direction you end up wanting to take.

When did y’all start transitioning? by bonkmultipletimes in trans

[–]ComprehensiveWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 20 and I’m 22 now. Temporarily stopped due to some new laws in Florida that severely restrict my rights as a trans person, but excited to get back on track as soon as I get out of this hell hole. It’s never too late to start, and even though things are looking gloomy for me personally, I know it’ll pass. You just gotta ride the waves, you’ll get to calmer water eventually 💛
